Senn HD555`s : one of the easiest driven full size set of cans out there ?
I got my HD555`s and am thrilled with them, One thing I found strange was although they are 50ohm cans , the ease with which my Creek OBH11 drives them is uncanny. I even used them umamped for a couple of traks and the 555`s must be the easiest driven full size cans I have ever owned. I...- Thermonuclear

Yet Another Big Review Thread: Sennheiser HD555, HD595, HD580, PX100, Grado SR225
WHAT A GREAT REVIEW MATE !!! I got my Senn HD555`s yesterday , dont get me wrong , I love my HD485`s to bits, but the HD555`s are just more "together" in my opinion as it just sounds like the music is held together tighter and is presented in a more balanced and inherently musical fashion...- Thermonuclear

With "these" attributes, how does Grado have a fanbase ?
Im waiting for my Sennheiser HD555 to arrive, fingers crossed they will arrive on thursday . Out of sheer curiousity, I went to a headphones retailer and tried Grado SR60i cans to see if they matched the reviews in the mags and online. What I found was : Damn those covers are abrasive on the...- Thermonuclear

My choice :- Uptown from the album Stolen Moments by jazz/fusion guitar virtuoso Lee Ritenour. The album is terrifically recorded and the opening track, Uptown, is dynamic in the extreme and features very fast position shifting double bass playing. Ive yet to hear cans that can fully keep...- Thermonuclear

Your thoughts on Sennheiser HD555 for female vocals & jazz ?
In my case, walloping hip hop bass is of 0% importance , think of acoustic guitars strumming, mary black singing and a guy playing double bass. Also think of the warm tones from an archtop jazz guitar coming from a tube fender twin reverb amp , thats what is important to me. In the sennheiser...- Thermonuclear
