Tube amp for 225i (keep it simple)
Like i mentioned earlier, i chose the E92, because i figured it was an upgrade from standard, and i have a further upgrade option if i want to try tube rolling. Anyone know if when you order the Little Dot, when you select upgrades, do they replace the original or do you gain both sets? FYI...- oblivious

Tube amp for 225i (keep it simple)
You can order directly through little dot, as i think they are trying to clear the back orders that were placed during their holiday period. I ordered 2 days ago for the Little Dot 1+ Hybrid, he mentioned to allow for 4 - 5 business days for the amp to be built and tested, and another 6 - 9 for...- oblivious

Little Dot I+ VS Little Dot MKIII with Grado headphones?
Cheers for the link, will keep an eye on the link. Have my money transfered and waiting What im just wanting to ensure is that this amp will rectify what i find is the problem with my Musiland amp/DAC. When i currently have it plugged in, the music is very distant, and some frequencies...- oblivious

Little Dot I+ VS Little Dot MKIII with Grado headphones?
woo, yes this is exactly what i am going through right now. I use my PC as a source, and as of right now using a Musiland US 02, which for the amping section with my 225i is so horribly under whelming. After pluggin my phones into my dads yamaha home theater receiver, i can truly hear the...- oblivious

Hey all, just after some thoughts and advice! Now i have ordered a pair of Grado SR-225i which are on their way, and im looking at options for amping them in the very near future. HIFIdiy's mini USB DAC MK2--Also a headphone amp!
I'm looking for a external DAC/Amp combo to use with a pair of Grado 225i's, having seen it mentioned once or twice during the 8 pages, are these not really going be a great match with this unit? Maybe a Musiland monitor 02 could quite be possibly better suited. I'm planning on having a desktop...- oblivious

Xonar Essence ST Sneak Peek
How would the ST compare with say the HiFiMan EF2 which would work out roughly the same price? Its a Amp/Dac combo. I'd be looking at using Grado 225i with either of these options.- oblivious

Finding the right pairing between headphones and DAC/amp for the price
You have made some good points there RedSky, but in regards to BordrGuy saying his source will be from his computer via his on-board chip, having the added benefit of a DAC incorporated into a amp unit, it would make a considerable difference i would think? Hmmm its hard when theres so many...- oblivious

Finding the right pairing between headphones and DAC/amp for the price
Interesting thread, I'm basically in the same position looking at the 225i model, and what would be a appropriate addition hardware wise to run from my pc. I'm currently using on board and would assume a dedicated headphone amp such as the EF2 would be better bang for buck then say the Asus STX...- oblivious

I think what the others are trying to say is, that in a ideal world placements etc would be perfect. But alot of the time you have to do the best that you can. For example its not easy to just go ahead and modify that massive cabinet to just lower the center speaker half a foot. Hell it...- oblivious
