I use H6 on nexus5/iPhone5, ipad and macbook pro with no issue. You won't get them to play at ear piercing level but casual listening level is no problem. And of course this is without any amps.

I would still keep my O2 + 717 rig over any other dynamic/ortho rig I have had. Price difference isn't that much compared to good solid dynamic rig anyway.

I have tried many headphones and O2 and HD800 are the most comfortable headphones. T1, HD600/650, K601, D7000, AD900 are very comfortable as well, but not as comfortable as those two I mentioned. Headphoens like K701, most Grados, HE5, LCD2, K1000 were uncomfortable on my head.
