My pair of AKG271's are pretty old and they're starting to fall apart. The right ear piece came off and there's a red and white wire loose that I need to re-solder. Problem is, I don't know where the white wire is supposed to go. On the piece that fell off you can see that there's a red wire...

Something's not right here. My iPod headphones sound better then these things..The E2's are extremely trebly and it says to try to a different shell thing but none of the other ones fit.

Every so often I notice a bit of static noise going on with my AKG K271's...I'm pretty sure it's not the songs themselves because I've listened to a variety of different types and genres and the problem persists. It's not too noticeable, but it bugs me. I usually hear this when really low tuned...

Recently I got the AKG K271's, and while they sound good for the most part, I've noticed occasionally that they perform worse than expected. I've had someone told me it could be that my player isn't powerful enough to drive the cans to their potential...what is the likelyhood of this...

It's very very unoticeable and it seems to only occur when a lot of things are going on in the music (distortion + hi-hat). I got the AKG K271's for Xmas and while they sound great otherwise, this is one thing I noticed. Is this part of the "breaking in" process? I've only used for about 1.5...

Right now I've got Grado SR-60's and I've been lugging them around in my backpack for 2 years without any problems, so unless this baby is really fragile or whatnot... Also, I hear they're good for metal/hard rock, but that may just be preference. Any truth to this?
