Music Player Software for macOS Catalina
My guess is that VOX is using the Core audio and sending out whatever rate is setup in audio midi. Audirvana uses exclusive mode so it is able to do bit rate switching on the fly according to what is playing.- uofmtiger

List of DACs that work with iPad
I really like the new Lightning to USB since you can now run the iPhone/iPad with an external DAC and charge it at the same time. For on the road, I still like the 6s plus- Lightning to USB- Pluggable hub-Dragonfly setup. I was using a T3Hub with my older iPhones, but it is too cumbersome...- uofmtiger

Best Netflix device for my wife...
For this purpose, I don't think there is a big difference between Roku and AppleTV. I would get an AppleTV since it is a bit easier to use (right now, you can put Netflix on the second row and it will stay there). With Roku (at least the one I own) the interface changes depending on the last...- uofmtiger

Pictures of your speaker setup!
Thanks! I am not a member of AVForum, so I don't think you saw it there. I love the sound of the RS6 speakers. I have no plans to change the out .- uofmtiger

Pictures of your speaker setup!
This is my main setup ( I got rid of the door behind the chair, but it looks pretty much the same) The speakers are Monitor Audio Silver RS6, I also have their surrounds (RSFX), Center, and an eD Sub. My office and bedroom have NHT SB2s. Let me know if you want to see pics...- uofmtiger

List of DACs that work with iPad
Has anyone found a less cumbersome solution than the T3hub for a portable way to fool the iPad into thinking it is plugged into a powered hub? I tried the search function, but couldn't get it to work properly. I got a Audioquest Dragonfly DAC and turned on home sharing in the Apple Music...- uofmtiger

The Canon Thread
The main issue is that most of these smaller cameras still use large lenses. Personally, I have no issue carrying a typical FF camera, but the lenses start to get really heavy and take up a lot of space when you carry several of them. I don't feel that the Rebel or other small cameras that use...- uofmtiger

The Canon Thread
Thanks for the video. It is definitely a lot faster. I am going to wait to see if the new EOS M, that is rumored to be out before year end, has more lens support. To me, that is the main weakness in the format now that AF is fixed. Like you mentioned, there are some regular lenses that are small...- uofmtiger

The Canon Thread
Yeah, my main issue with it is the current lack of EF-M lenses, when compared to the numerous lenses for micro four thirds. The 50 & 85 f1.8s would still be in the right size range, but I would just use the FF DSLR if I was carrying something bigger. I still may get one down the road, but I may...- uofmtiger

The Canon Thread
Are you liking this camera? I thought about buying one, but went with micro four thirds for now. However, I would love to use my Canon lenses with autofocus on such a mall package. I am hoping they continue to Improve on this model. If I had not just ordered the EPL5 right before the price...- uofmtiger

Amazon Vine?
I am a vine member. They send you an email with certain items you can get for free and review. Many items go fast, so you have to be lucky to get something decent..like headphones.. The list of things to review usually consists of mostly books.- uofmtiger

Blogs
I have a webpage with a blog. I mainly use it to review and comment on stuff I own, but the page that discusses my home office setup gets (by far) the most hits since it has been featured on Apartment Therapy, Lifehacker, and many other sites around the world. I put together a site to...- uofmtiger

I agree. Continue returning it until you get a good one. I and others have tested our iPads and know the issue doesn't exist on ours. Therefore, there must be a bad batch or something. I would try to return it online rather that returning it to the store. You might have better luck at getting...- uofmtiger

Not true. I don't need to go to a forum to know because I have an iPad that I tested (read my post above). Also, CR reached the same conclusion. I posted published survey results that show that you are in a very small minority of people. Also, CR says that the issue only affects hardcore...- uofmtiger

My iPad definitely charges with brightness at 100 percent, auto brightness off, and streaming video. I started with 81 percent of battery power and in an hour it went up to 85 percent. I never use mine at 100 percent brightness, but I set it up that way to test it. Consumer Reports also tested...- uofmtiger

Also, 89 percent said the "heat issue" was not a problem and 7 percent said it wasn't much of a problem 0 percent said...- uofmtiger

Quote: I agree. A more powerful tablet with 4 times more pixels on the screen that gets very warm (not uncomfortably so) and has issues holding a charge while running the most taxing app on the market is not much of a story (if it was, my HP laptop would be an even bigger story..I...- uofmtiger

iPodPJ, You information is identical to mine. However, there was this note below it: "We are sorry but we don't have any information on this model yet." So I am not sure how accurate the results are. Mine is a Verizon model and it does not mention it in "Group 2" like JC9394's...- uofmtiger
