iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane
I'll be honest, I also didn't try with the iPower :relaxed: It is probably great and may be just as good as the Hypsos. I read the previous generation polluted the mains with noise, so I also try not to use smps. I don't know if true, you can read so much.... I also don't find the Hypsos so...- knudsen

iFi audio ZEN Stream - Streaming elevated to a higher plane
I've had the Zen for 4-5 days and it is really, really good! Everything I've tried works fine. I also have had a pi2aes for a year, it is powered by a lt3045-based 30v supply. It is on a pi 3b. The Zen is powered by a Ferrum Hypsos and/or the 12V Ipower that came along with it. I know that the...- knudsen

You can do it an album at a time with xACT - in the tab "tags". Just paste an image and click "Write tags". I don't know anything that can do it all automatically.- knudsen

At least I've read it many times, and tested it to be just below 4% saved for paypal with my currency. Its the same if you travel and are to pay a restaurant bill, and you can choose between paying in local currency or your home currency. Always select the local currency (= sellers currency)...- knudsen

I've ordered one now. You can get the price down to 57$ if you create a new account, get the 5$ coupon for new users and pay with paypal. Also (always!), when using paypal and your native currency is not dollars select that your card provider should do the currency exchange, that will keep...- knudsen

Btw, I save 5% on every paypal transaction by selecting that I want my card provider (= my bank) to do the exchange from USD to local currency. I've only read about 1 other pair, a guy in the EA group. Though his does'nt have the same cable as mine will have (the one I posted), so who knows how "official" it is, or if its more of a prototype/custom/limited ed, which may turn "official" if there is enough demand- knudsen

The joybuy price fluctuates up and down, I got it at 350$, but about 4-5 weeks ago it was down to 330$ for 24 hours. It was a test of will not to buy another one at that price.... anyway, if you are in no hurry, just wait and it'll come down again- knudsen

I am considering getting an amp for difficult to drive earbuds. The one I've already fallen in love with is single ended. Will this somehow be a problem? With my limited understanding I can still get the benefit of the better sound from balanced on the zx300, right? Every time I try to read up...- knudsen

With most earbuds I am using DC Phase Linearizer (type A high) and a bit of eq, typically also to eq the low bass up a bit. With some, I also eq the area around 2K down a bit as my ears are sensitive there. I find the benefits to far outweigh a potential degradation of the sound (I've never been...- knudsen

Will be excellent with some more impressions of the TM9. I need a good bass for my genres, so since ClieOS described it as "surely not a bass heavy earphone" I asked Blox if it could "take some eq in the bass" (thas was the exact question). The response was "TM9 does not have big bass and I do...- knudsen

Yes I agree, I also find it is excellent. I've gotten used to not using EQ because it was so lousy on the DX90, but on the zx300 its another matter. I can't hear any degradation going from "Direct source" to using the EQ at all, so the price of EQ'ing a bit is ZERO :gs1000smile: Though a couple...- knudsen
