The newer ones use the NZ2520SDA variant, which is supposed to be a tiny bit better. The manual was not updated

Curious if anyone using Pi2AES(volumio) with an external hard drive has issues with it randomly disconnecting?

I have close to 2tb on the external, and about once a week it disconnects from the source and I have to do a combination of turning it off and plugging the hard drive into different ports. Even then, it fails to update the music library 2-3 times before it finally has the full library again.

Maybe it's just struggling with my large music library via USB? Has anyone else had this issue, or have suggestions to make the connection to the external hard drive more stable?

Is there a way to use Pi2AES(or another streaming device) that can cast ALL my computer audio out straight to the device? like I can choose it as the audio output device in my Windows PC.

Unlike Macs, there is nothing like AirPort on Windows. You can use Chromecast, but only from some applications. Or Bluetooth, which is I think closest to system wide solution.

Yeah, that's what I thought. I guess there's no way around it, for now at least. Will have to settle with BT then.
