IEM sub $30 question: Dunu Trident vs. Brainwavz Delta vs. CW31 vs. M9-SL
I had the Meelec CW31 until they broke (unfortunate accident) and then decided to get something different as replacement and got the Dunu Trident. As a non-audiophile, they sound pretty similar to me. The Trident definitely has better build quality, and perhaps more punch, but both would be...- obliquity

Brainwavz Beta or DUNU Trident?
isolation is slightly better, clarity is about on par... basically, everything is as good or better with the Tridents (though many things only slightly). biggest difference is that fullness on the low end is more pronounced with the Tridents, but I wouldn't call it "boomy"- obliquity

Brainwavz Beta or DUNU Trident?
My Tridents just arrived, and I'm quite impressed. They have more low-end punch than the Meelec CW31 that they are replacing, but not to the point that it overwhelms. Much more listening to be done, but after an hour or so, off to a good start. Can't go wrong with the Tridents.- obliquity

Brainwavz Beta or DUNU Trident?
I haven't heard any of these, but was recently looking to replace my Meelec CW31, and was debating between the DUNU Trident and RHA MA-350. After doing some head-fi research, the MA-350 is pretty similar to the Trident, but has a more fatiguing treble (though this may not be an issue at the...- obliquity

Meelec CW31 vs. DUNU Trident vs. RHA MA-350
Quote: Would the AstroTec AM90 or Brainwavz M5 be better than the Trident? Build quality and comfort for long listening periods are two things I highly value, and I'm looking for clarity and warmth, with a full low end. Thank you!- obliquity

Thanks, I'm leaning towards the Trident now, but have you heard the RHA MA-350? Is it comparable to the Trident?- obliquity

Meelec CW31 vs. DUNU Trident vs. RHA MA-350
My CW31 buds recently had an accident and I need to replace them. A bit of history: my favorite on-the-go IEM is the Denon AH-C551, sadly discontinued. I then picked up the Meelec CW31, which I have enjoyed as well, until they broke. I'm looking to replace them, possibly with another...- obliquity

Denon C551 replacement: MEElec M21, M31, or CW31?
I've chosen the CW31! I was worried that because it's a "clarity" model it wouldn't have the deep, full rich sound of my Denons, but the reviews I've read say that there is actually quite a bit of bass. Would you say that's accurate? (Not saying these have M31 level bass, but perhaps close to...- obliquity

Denon C551 replacement: MEElec M21, M31, or CW31?
Thanks for the replies. Since the M21 and M31 have the port in the back like the Denons, I would bet the isolation is comparable. Glad to hear the Meelecs won't be a downgrade in sound (for the most part). Do you find the M31's to be at all too large sitting in the ears? Do they fall out...- obliquity

Denon C551 replacement: MEElec M21, M31, or CW31?
Edit: I've since discovered MEElectronics, which are earning excellent reviews... does anyone own the M21, M31, or CW31? I don't think Meelec was around the last time I wanted new IEMs, but any thoughts on M21 vs. M31 vs. CW31?- obliquity

Need help to decide on my first pair
v-moda has pretty bad quality control. I've only heard bad things about how they last a month or two... I highly recommend the Denon AH-C551s. They have great, rich bass and decent highs. Comfortable as well.- obliquity

What rate do you rip your music at ?
192 AAC w/ VBR I find that's the best combo between SQ and space on my wee little 4GB ipod mini that still sounds good with my c551s- obliquity

IEM durability
I have a pair of Denon AH-C551's... and I was wondering: how durable are these and other comparable IEMs? Is it safe to throw them in my pocket with my iPod when not in use, or should I really be using the case they came with?- obliquity

c551 vs. full cans
I recently purchased denon c551's and I've been very happy with my first foray into "decent" headphones. I only looked at IEMs because of portability concerns, but I'm curious: how does a c551(or similar) IEM stack up against something like a Sennheiser HD555 or HD280-Pro in terms of sound...- obliquity
