Edit: I've since discovered MEElectronics, which are earning excellent reviews... does anyone own the M21, M31, or CW31? I don't think Meelec was around the last time I wanted new IEMs, but any thoughts on M21 vs. M31 vs. CW31?

Its average for iems but not below average. You can surely block large amounts of external noise in the streets but i dont know about extreme conditions like noisy trains.
The other two meelecs you are interest dont provide better isolation btw.
Using foam tips will help you even more with isolation if you find it its not sufficient

I have all three with me right now, but...any of them would be a sidegrade to your Denons. They may even be a slight downgrade depending on what sound signature you like. The CW31 is my favorite of the three.

The CW31 isolates the most (I use the triple flange tips) but as inherent with angled nozzle IEM's, it won't be that amazing. Still, I love the CW31 for what it is.

Thanks for the replies. Since the M21 and M31 have the port in the back like the Denons, I would bet the isolation is comparable. Glad to hear the Meelecs won't be a downgrade in sound (for the most part).

Do you find the M31's to be at all too large sitting in the ears? Do they fall out easily because of their size?

For my ears, they're fine. I look like I have bumblebees sticking out my ears, but they've never fallen out. You'll need T500 Comply tips for these if you want to go the foam route. They aren't the most comfy, but the size doesn't really inhibit anything.

I've chosen the CW31! I was worried that because it's a "clarity" model it wouldn't have the deep, full rich sound of my Denons, but the reviews I've read say that there is actually quite a bit of bass. Would you say that's accurate? (Not saying these have M31 level bass, but perhaps close to the M21?)

Again, thanks for all of the insight.

They have more bass than the M21, and sound pretty intimate. Good choice!
