Quite easy actually, I would say though that buying on ebay from Japanese sellers is about equivalent and probably easier overall, YMMV obviously- TominJapan

The Stax Thread III
Hi sorry if this is not the right place to post. I bought this SRM-313 on Yahoo Japan and was wondering if I need/ should or should not convert the voltage to 100 Volts (I currently live in the US). The labels are somehow confusing; it was previously used in Japan so I am not sure what to do...- TominJapan

Wow! Sennheiser HD 540 Reference are so good.
using a Yulong DA8 balanced pretty good (what a soundstage!!) somehow a little too harsh IMHO so interested in a dedicated balanced amp with another DAC, Matrix Quattro for example.- TominJapan

The Entry Level Stax Thread
I had the same feeling when I listened to a SR-307 connected to two different amps, there is an audible difference... yet I opted for the cheaper 2170 combo to start with. I read somewhere else that some people do not hear any difference between amps which I could not really believe Which amp...- TominJapan

The Entry Level Stax Thread
Many thanks this is what I guessed, I found out what the orginal fuse is, it is a Japanese NSF ECR fuse, 1.5A 125V 4.6x16mm . Already ordered a new PSU and 250V1.5A 5x20mm fuses and a fuseholder. Is it Ok to cut off the pigtails close to the fuse but keep the existing pigtails in place and...- TominJapan

Stax SRM252s...problem... please help
OK figured it out... screws are hidden under the feet..... fuse seems broken. Wow I bought it NEW in Japan at a Biccamera store and the fuse comes broken, unbelievable considering I have plenty of 100v transformers, it was definitely not me blowing the fuse. Probably faulty PSU. Have to figure...- TominJapan

HD800 vs HE1000/MHP1000 impressions. Suprises all around!
IF I have time I'll drop by at the Biccamera Shinjuku store, they have a astax SR-207 and HD-800 with a Luxman amp to play with. I need a new headphone..My HD540 is too lean for my Yulong DAC DA8 for orchestral music (otherwise well it's the perfect headphone...just a hint too leam IMHO)...- TominJapan

Wow! Sennheiser HD 540 Reference are so good.
Daltonlanny, could not have expressed it better, your post sums it up:) And no it's not the foam, I own the HD540 I and II both have different foams, agreed they were replaced to new ones, yet both are pretty equal with more than outstanding performance. And I immediately sold my HD650 which is...- TominJapan

Wow! Sennheiser HD 540 Reference are so good.
it's also a question of diminishing returns and function of dac/amp that you have at hand I think it is very likely that $1000 phones are 'better' yet then other contenders come to my mind- TominJapan
