Recommendations? Ultrasone pro i900 vs performance 880?
Thanks for the heads up! I hope someone can give me some comparisons between the two. Best I can gather is that the 900's can be a bit harsh in the treble, whereby the 880's are a bit more natural. I'm kind of leaning toward the 880's overall, their pads seem larger and perhaps more...- CrawlingEye

Recommendations? Ultrasone pro i900 vs performance 880?
Perceptibly, I don't feel that the DT880's have better soundstage / isolation compared to the 650 Trackmasters. They are flatter in the midrange, but the positional sound is far better, coming back to the 650's. While I do like the Beyer's a lot for music- I feel like the Ultrasone are much...- CrawlingEye

Recommendations? Ultrasone pro i900 vs performance 880?
After some additional reading, it appears that perhaps the 880's are the better choice.- CrawlingEye

Recommendations? Ultrasone pro i900 vs performance 880?
After not having plugged in my (quite old) HFI 650 Trackmasters in quite some time, I decided to plug them in and give them a listen. I've been using my Beyer DT880's for a while now, almost exclusively. By comparison, what I'm feeling (albeit the uncomfortable pads) is a massively enhanced...- CrawlingEye

Meier Audio Porta Corda MkII Group Buys (One for U.S., One for Europe)
Whoops, I hadn't noticed the payment was already taking place. Jude, how long will this GB be available? The soonest I can commit money to this GB would be Friday.- CrawlingEye

US/1 I've been wanting a Porta Corda or HA-1 but haven't had the funds, this is certainly an excellent chance to finally get one. I'm sure these will mate well with my Trackmasters.- CrawlingEye

DAP: When broswing music, Prefer ID3-tag database, or Folder-Tree view?
I think if someone's upset about id3, they need to start buying music and ripping it, rather than dowloading it.- CrawlingEye

Song...Gap...Song
Window's Voice recorder can even handle the task, with wav's. Just open the wav, go to the point where the silence begins, and hit "delete after this point." Save the file. Load the original file again (with space) and delete before the point. I've been thinking about doing this with some...- CrawlingEye

(at least) Rio, to my knowledge states clearly the capacity of its player. The battery complaint is a bit petty, in my opinion.- CrawlingEye

Pictures of your Portable Rig
I usually just use the mx300's when I go out, despite the fact that I really dislike them. I'm thinking of picking up some px100's or px200's. I like the 650's and the karma, but the cable on the 650's is pretty long to walk around with. Edit: hopefully this'll work- CrawlingEye

yo_alexandru, if you meant to show me the SlimX, this isn't much of a possibility. She wants a hard drive based mp3 player, so she doesn't have to carry around CD's. Iron, I think I may get her some mx400's with the radioshack foamies, for now. Eventually, she may find herself a pair of Ety...- CrawlingEye

it says $350 for me. As it stands, the Zen Xtra will give her more storage, the iHP will give her a remote that will sit unused, ogg support that she won't use and a voice recorder she won't use. If the UI of the Zen Xtra is good (as the ign article seems to state that it's an 8.5 out of...- CrawlingEye

Thanks. I just found the ign Zen Xtra review. It looks like the UI was improved over the older Zen's greatly, and even the software was much improved. Worse comes to worse, notmad is an easily viable option (although ign seemed to be fine with the current Xtra software). I'm still open to...- CrawlingEye

Ok, here's the deal, finally my girlfriend (after heckling me about loving my Karma) decided that she wants an mp3 player for when the weather gets nicer, so she can sit outside, listen to music and read between classes.
