    AMB Beta 22 & o22 Enclosures??

I bought two Par Metal chassis and it seems to be fine. Front Pannel Express says they can just take the rear and front plates and machine them for me for a pretty reasonable (I think) price. I used the designs by AMB, and modified them for my 3-channel configuration. I think my solution has...

    Looking for 20th century Classical

Some highly recommended avant-garde and electronic music of the 20th century: Terry Riley is one of the most important composers of minimalist music, and was much more provocative than self-proclaimed minimalist masters such as Phillip Glass. Terry Riley - In C and Olson III Karlheinz...

    AMB Beta 22 & o22 Enclosures??

OK guys, I've decided to go ahead and buy two enclosures and machine them myself. I was thinking about getting two of these: DIY Enclosures LLC - Products - DIY-0908 Chassis I am having trouble figuring out, however, if the boards will be too big for this enclosure. I'm building the...

    AMB Beta 22 & o22 Enclosures??

Well, I could theoretically buy two of those par-metal series 20 chassis' and then send them off to get machined for me, right? Then all I'd have to do is design the front and rear panels... probably could go with front panel express? Thanks for the help so far guys.

    AMB Beta 22 & o22 Enclosures??

I bought the AMB Beta 22 3-channel active ground kit from GlassJarAudio, as well as the accompanying AMB labs power supply kit (o22?), and am at the point where I need to start worrying about enclosures and other parts not provided by the kit. This is my first serious DIY project, and am now...

DBX 160x Compressor Schematic - Help Me?!

Thanks for the response, Pars! Those answers open up a couple of other difficulties for my group. Do you (or anyone else) have any idea exactly what the diodes (D101-D102) are doing in relation to the push-pull transistor circuit? We're seeing only the negative (half) of the audio wave...

DBX 160x Compressor Schematic - Help Me?!

Hi hi hi, Head-Fi! I'm taking an electric engineering course and have decided to take on the task of analyzing the schematic of a DBX 160x compression unit. I have a few questions about how this circuit works... The circuit can be found here...

    Headphone Amp Building Kits?

Hi guys, I'm taking an electrical engineering class currently, and one of the semester's projects involves building a high-complexity audio device of some sort, either of our own design or through a kit. I see this as an excellent opportunity to build a really high quality headphone amplifier...

Can anyone recommend some great ambient music for studying?

You really can't go wrong with Brian Eno's ambient masterpieces. My favorite is Discreet Music, but the "Ambient" series (particularly "Music for Airports") is also quite relaxing and pretty. Personally I study with no music, because I get too distracted, no matter what I'm listening to.

    Another Mahler - Disney connection

Mahler has had a lot of melodies and motifs lifted from his works into more contemporary pieces. A very famous GE jingle is taken right from the finale of his 2nd symphony. This is pretty common with a lot of post-Romantic composers of Mahler's era.
