Quality EQ apps for ipod/iphone/ipad
I just read your comment about Pandora and have contacted them again. Let's hope there is more interest. As for Spotify, they offer an API but their API does not allow to process the audio. That makes it kinda useless and I am trying to get them to change that but until then, I cannot use...- Audioforge

Unfortunately hooking into the audio output is not possible on iOS (unless you jailbreak). As for Audiobus, we offer an app that supports Audiobus and provides the same sophisticated equalizer as our Equalizer app. The app is called Remaster and like Audiobus itself, it is geared more towards...- Audioforge

Auto-Normalizer is an automatic preamp control. It does not compress or limit the audio. It is not ReplayGain either. I believe Apple's system of SoundCheck is doing something very similar to ReplayGain and Equalizer supports it. However, Souncheck (and ReplayGain) build on the initial...- Audioforge

Quality EQ apps for ipod/iphone/ipad
Sorry for not posting for a long time. I have been working on tracking down a couple of bugs that were hard to reproduce (nightmare of every developer). So, in essence I found that there are certain situations, where Apple's own code is actually hanging the system, and because Equalizer uses...- Audioforge

I know I have not been posting much lately. I am quite busy with a huge update. UI gets a big overhaul. So does the audio engine. I convert the whole app over to ARC (automatic resource counting). And the new features, or fixes to stuff that should have been fixed but I couldn't...- Audioforge

Quote: Weird, the resume was tested extensively. Will see if I can find out what's wrong for the next update. As for play list selection: This was requested as a feature, to have the artist list show all songs on all albums of this artist. So if you want to listen to all the albums of...- Audioforge

...not sure. Can you post a hires screenshot (or email to me) to explain better? PM me for my email addy cut audio below 20 Hz Actually, I *could* set Equalizer to give you access to the frequencies down to 1 Hz. However, I have found some artifacts happening when I do this. So current...- Audioforge

Just a heads up that a big update for Equalizer has been approved just now: - No more delay on start up if you choose to use the simple playlist mode (default now). You can get the old playlist mode in the settings app. - Background optimized mode (set in the settings screen and...- Audioforge

If you want to beta test Equalizer, just PM me here or use the contact form on my website: http://audioforge.ca The limit of 3600 ish songs does not apply for the new way of selecting songs. It's pretty much the iPod way. However, once you started playing an album or collection of songs from an...- Audioforge

Machiventa: I am working on the alphabet index. nonsupremous: As you would suspect, DRM'd songs are not working but what you encounter might be something else. Ok, I see now. Yes. Now that I see what you mean. It's not actually playing over different albums but listing all albums in one list, in album order. That is easy enough to do.- Audioforge

Ok, your step by step would play the songs in alphabetic order. But didn't you want to play them in album order? How do you do that (play several albums in album order) in the iPod app on iPhone or iPod? To delete a song, just tap on the name of the song and hit the action menu button...- Audioforge

...stops. Can you please give me a step by step on how you do it? In the mean time, while I cannot get the iPod app to do what you suggest, I *can* get Equalizer to do it. How? 1) clear your playlist (if you have one set) 2) tap the plus icon 3) go to artist and select 'Led...- Audioforge

Just for the record: Equalizer supports Apple lossless and has no problem at all with playing them. As a matter of fact, I use Apple lossless as my internal file type in other apps when I need to make sure to store lossless audio and have the luxury of file size compression. And yes...- Audioforge

Ok, lots of questions I have to work through: The equation in the blue screen is actually a diagram of the algorithm for the filter I use in Equalizer. Yes, the save mode switch turns off once it is 'used' to make sure your playlist is saved the next time around. I am experimenting...- Audioforge

EQ free is quite dated. It is a correct representation of the audio quality of the equalizer but it has problems with certain (even lossless) codecs. So to evaluate it, use a common mp3 128 bit or AAC without optimization. Equalizer has been updated several times and is constantly improved...- Audioforge

...question!) As for your other two questions: I cannot speak for Victor but I know I tried it all and what it boils down to right now is that you *can* do remote control and lock screen controls etc in apps (and I have done it in my other apps, it's not hard) but unfortunatly Apple has thrown...- Audioforge

Brooko: thanks for your explanations. As to your question, there is a global gain (or cut in most cases). It's the volume slider that shows up (on top) when you first start up the app. So after you have set your eq settings, just tap in the empty screen, outside the grey/blue control...- Audioforge

Gorman: I am the developer of Equalizer and when I designed it I was inspired by the RockBox playlist handling. In Equalizer, you build the playlist the way you want, on the fly. Add as many albums or single songs to the list. Start playing (EQed) and change the order of the songs while...- Audioforge

[Review] EQu parametric EQ for the iPodtouch/iPhone/iPad
Justed wanted to give a heads up with regards to a new update coming to Equalizer: I noticed alot of you are adding all songs to the playlist. While there seems to be a hard limit of around 3600 songs there is no other limitation. Now Equalizer checks on start up if all songs from your previous...- Audioforge

Thanks again yuriv, for taking the time and examining the output. Very interesting findings. I did not find the increase at low frequencies when I tested Equalizer way back in 2009 on my 1G iPod touch. Thanks for all your suggestions. I am currently working on a more centralized play screen. similar to the iPod app but still different enough (Apple does not want other apps to recreate their functionality too much, so it is a fine line I am walking). as for the values: I had more...- Audioforge
