Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
Just got Audio Technica ATH-A900X, they sound very similar to the Shure SRH840, only slightly softer on the highs and a tad more bass. To me, the ATH-A900X FIT better than the Shure SRH840, but the comfort is worse on the Audio Technica ATH-A900X. I paid $126 for them, for the price, it's...- Sony Slave

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
Thank you, the Shures are here to stay, until they no longer work. Then I'll buy another set. I'm actually most worried about the mids of a900x, only time will tell how they sound.- Sony Slave

Audio Technica ATH-A900X Discussion Thread (Formerly A-900X Review)
I purchased A900x headphone from another headfier recently and it comes in the mail tommorow. Coming from the Shure SRH840's what should I expect? Sound wise, what are some of the advantages of the A900x over the SRH840? I love the SRH840's, just wish they had more bass, so purchased...- Sony Slave

PSB M4U1 - Thoughts?
I think might actually keep the PSB's, if there is one thing they do REALLY well, it's definitely for gaming. I play BF4 and Blacklight Retribution, both of these games sound AMAZING on this headphone. The immersion, details, and ambiance is great.- Sony Slave

PSB M4U1 - Thoughts?
I plan on selling mine for $199, they sound great, but IMO are not worth their price and performance ratio. My brother and I compared them to the Shure SRH840, and we both prefer the Shures. The Shure have better/more mids and highs, and have a slightly more natural and accurate sound. The...- Sony Slave

PSB M4U1 - Thoughts?
I just purchased the PSB M4U 1, they should come in 3 days. Coming from the Shure SRH840, I sort of know what to expect, I wanted a complete and total upgrade, not a "side grade." I also keep hearing how the PSB M4U 2 sound SO much better in active mode. if that is the case, shouldn't the PSB...- Sony Slave

Upgrade From Shure SRH840. IS the PSB M4U1 Answer ?
I actually am considering them because my Shures have a crack in the head band. The sound of the Shure SRH840 is great to me, at least. Well see, later.- Sony Slave

Little Dot Tube Amps: Vacuum Tube Rolling Guide
I wouldn't be surprised if it has the sound of the dark voice, but at a lower cost. On topic, it seems like members are taking the Little Dot to uncharted territory. As a matter of fact, do you or anyone else know how the best heavily modified Little Dot 1+, MKIII, or MKIV setup...- Sony Slave

Upgrade From Shure SRH840. IS the PSB M4U1 Answer ?
I'm looking for a headphone that has the same sound signature as Shure SRH840, only improved. From what I have researched, I need to spend big bucks to get an ALL AROUND improvement (Shure 1540) , unless I purchase the PSB M4U1? Others have claimed the 1540's and PSB M4U1's sound like 840's...- Sony Slave

Upgrade from the Shure SRH840, is it the 940's?
I would like to know if you could help me choose the right headphone. As of now I own the 840's, are there any headphones that sound just like them or very similar but better all around? I don't want to go above $300 brand new. I have also seen members compare the A900X to the 940's, is it...- Sony Slave

AKG K 240 mkii vs Shure SRH 440
The 440's can be found used on amazon or head fi less $60, which is a steal. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B002DP1FTU/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=used The 440's are a very transparent and detailed headphone at it's price range. Many times I would listen to songs at a low...- Sony Slave

I'm pretty sure that the Dolby Surround Sound (For Headphones) is a marketing gimmick. Any set of good headphones will give you that surround sound feel if you have a good enough sound card or audio processor.- Sony Slave

Shure SRH1540 vs Audio Technica W1000x.
From what I have read and researched both of these headphones sound somewhat similar. I know very little on how both headphones behave, other than they are both bassy but detailed as well. Their price points are very similar, $500 for the Shure's and $500 +/- (used) for the Audio Technica's. ...- Sony Slave
