AUDEZE LCD XC
There are, I call them rumors for now, that the updated XC 2021 has a built-in passive filter compared to the LCD-X. Anyone open them up and saw resistors that would confirm this? I only found two mentions about this circumstance on the net. One here and on another plattform which states it is...- tarsonis

Hey there, I'm looking for a good LCD-X. Preferably one build after 2022 and with measurements by Audeze. I know one can request the measurements with the SN. The unit deviation aren't that bad anymore from what I read but still would like to see it first if you got them at hand. All the best- tarsonis

Just look at your link you provided and the pads (or creators website) and your pads on your pics please. They are different. So someone swapped the pads. You can put any pads on them. There is no law to not use pads from different companies. But they do alter the sound massively. I would just...- tarsonis

Help me find a pot
Yes I searched also on mouser. I only found pots with a center detent which would fit. Not with 41 steps. The thing is if its the pot thats faulty I still need to find a solution. Thats why I hope to find a final fix. I look around further- tarsonis

Help me find a pot
Hey there, I'm searching for a replacement pot for my USB DAC. I'm searching for better alternatives that fit and are dented since around two weeks now... Mostly they are dent free. Thats the most important one for me. Would just use the next best now but I don't find anything. I know its a...- tarsonis

Fostex T50RP Incremental Mods and Measurements
None of my first two mods had this problem. But the paradox I got while back had this rattling in the right driver. Really annoying while going through a kick sample library. :D Didn't show up in my measurement and wasn't noticeable with a busy mix. And sometimes it was gone after hitting the...- tarsonis

The T50RP Paradox | reviews, discussion, & mini-tour impressions (index in second post)
Maybe aim at one Lake People G100/G109 with an ODAC if you don't want to carry around a lot. Back then with my basic Paradox I used to work with the RME 9632 and the G100 and made some great mixes/releases. Important note is the impedance below 1Ohm which makes a noticeable difference coming...- tarsonis

Focal SPIRIT PROFESSIONAL Impressions thread
I bought a second pair because my first one had a really weak subbass and transient response. It turned out I was right after back to back comparsion. Also made measuments with my rig to confirm that. I think I posted them in this thread a while ago. Didn't see any difference with case or...- tarsonis

Focal SPIRIT PROFESSIONAL Impressions thread
Hm, seems to be a kind of gearlutz myth taken everywhere. The 7520 are such a weak blender that tyll didn't even bother to make a comment. Never heard such a weak but expensive hp. And well I had them for test purposes. Postes my measurements comparing them with FSP in the studio headphone...- tarsonis

They say 7520 are big fail. :D Seriously I would take the 7520 of this thread. Never saw such bad measurement which colorate with what I reviewed. The 7510 have to be better as it can't get any worse.- tarsonis

Just listened to some Fostex T50RPs today... WOW!
Yes, The Bmf thread. But I wouldn't recommend the InEar method as it to much hussle and you would need a HRTF compensation curve for your concha/pinna. Well better than nothing. Was chatting with solderdude a long time ago and he convinced me to use a flat surface measurement rig. Well a great...- tarsonis

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?
Can't agree with that. The MDs arent tuned to translate neutral. There is a large downfall starting at 2-3khz thats is typical for the T50 driver. It can be solved with the right damping material. Its not large but its enough to call the mids recessed. Its clearly audible if you switch back and...- tarsonis

NAD Viso HP50 : Another superb headphone from Paul Barton?
Is there a way to disassemble the headband without destroying the leather part or connections? I have read the post where one head-fier replaced the headband but actually because the original was broke. He didn't explain how he disassembled it.- tarsonis

Hehe maybe I'm a lucky guy and have two faulty pairs. I won't buy a third pair to test it xD Well it may depend on the seal. I can't seem to find a good seal. Actually every position is so uncomfy. But the subbass varies a lot with the position on my head- tarsonis

Focal SPIRIT PROFESSIONAL Impressions thread
Yeah well experiences differ in a lot of ways. I would never mention the FSP with rich and dark or soft in one sentence. Its a bit too bright and metalic cymbal like harshness for me. And the subbass is there but to light for me to call that neutral compared to my studio setup. A bit too fast...- tarsonis
