What I will say is that they are not a true reference style tuning, in Campfire fashion they are slightly v-shaped but without the midrange sounding sucked out or hollow. Tonality is good and the soundstaging is truly excellent. They have a full and warm low end, crisp midrange and effortless...

We may have got a sneaky universal demo set - my oh my these sound lovely :) being a M.O.T. I can't post much though.

Just fyi a socket saver is perfect for using 6080 valves in the TA-26 - brings them up to the right height

Nice take on the Saber, and as someone who listens to a lot of rock and metal you have got it spot on.

Much less bass, more sparkly and aggressive sounding - super snappy sounding - quite different signatures.

Mammoth is quite v-shaped, very hard hitting with good detail overall, Saber is more controlled and lean with less body but a more snappy presentation. Blues/electronic would be better on the OH500 - rock is more engaging on the Saber

Just FYI the OH500 are superb but quite natural and smooth sounding, lacking the energy and engagement of Grado's Not heard the Dunu - but I enjoy the Saber more just for general out and about listening, and would have the OH500 for more relaxed laid-back sessions.

Less bassy than Polaris and Mammoth - more in line with the Dorado as such, but with less body and overall impact. These are quite clean and crisp - not one of Campfire's more bass oriented models.

Same size roughly as the Satsuma/Honeydew so nice and comfortable

I'm mainly a metal/rock guy - but tested them with acoustic, EDM, symphonic metal etc... bit of everything and they worked well with pretty much everything I threw at them - EDM might not quite have the bass body that some will crave (Mammoth would satisfy those) but it had the timing and groove...

Well... I've been listening to our demo Saber for the past couple of days and I'm gonna buy a pair :ksc75smile: Don't expect bass canons, or an analytical sound - these are super engaging, snappy, energetic and fun - yes they are occasionally borderline sibilant, yet to me are fatigue free...

The Pro X series already moved to IPX (updated UM Pro range) - so it will be interesting to see if the W series also gets this connector

I personally think that unless you really want an electrostat system and sound, most people are going to be better off with the LCD-5. Both are superb headphones in their own right though.

Pretty much how I hear them to be fair - our demo pair have just arrived. They make the LCD-4's midrange sound comparatively muffled which is quite a feat - I think the biggest bonus is going to be the weight and comfort though.

Try the water method a couple of times for the best results :)

I'm trying to get updates from our ops department to see if we have any sort of tracking so we can get an ETA. But from the looks of it, they haven't arrived yet with us so I'm not sure we'll be able to get them to people for Christmas.

Sorry for the confusion, the shipping was upgraded for all pre-orders placed before the stock arrived (pre 10th December) - after that they started shipping normally.

Sadly as you may have seen, some that are sent on a 24 service arrive the next working day, others take a couple of days. This is out of our hands, but we did upgrade all standard orders to a RM24 service instead of the normal RM48 service we use.

Providing they are not Penrose X pre-orders, they are going out today. Orders are marked as dispatched in bulk towards the end of the day (which will trigger an email with tracking to be sent) Sadly we cannot change the shipping method now, as Royal Mail will be picking them up any minute...

All remaining Penrose pre-orders are going out the door today :)

Sorry if it wasn't clear, the Penrose X is not part of this shipment, as most know the Penrose X was delayed more than the Penrose and we don't know when they will be shipping yet.

We should have enough coming to fulfil all pre-orders of the X, as with the normal Penrose we ordered more so we had some for stock too. But with the Penrose X, we don't have an ETA from Audeze yet sadly, so I can't say when we will be getting them.
