NEW! Klipsch Heritage Series Audiophile Headphones, CES 2017
What other headphones have you listened to and enjoyed? A single review like this serves no purpose without some sort of qualification or context. I say this only because your terms aren't widely used or very explanitive of the sound and the response graphs and pro reviews have shown this to be...- blargman

Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread
Anyone notice any imbalances with their 2C's? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills here, but I swear there's a 2-3db difference to the right on mine. I have to change the computer balance to make the sound feel center to my head. Otherwise songs seem too heavy on the right side. I'm fairly...- blargman

I mean if you wanted to say the 400is are a bit weak I'd agree with you. But the classics? What are you smoking??- blargman

Yeah I guy don't get it. I'm not trying to be filling this thread with nonsense but I can't see you ever think these headphones are bass light. Even with a weak source they are boomy as ****- blargman

I have to say, I'm very confused by people who say the bass is weak on the lcd2c with certain amps. I question if perhaps they are used to overinflated Beats bass or something? In my personal experience, even coming straight out of my phone via lightning -> 1/8" -> 1/4" adapter, the bass is deep...- blargman

Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
It's definitely a different sound. The bass is much more in quantity and quality. My layman observation is that the amazing bass reproduction they give is what gives them the LCD "dark color". It's definitely something you can listen to all day and never fatigue. Fit and finish are perfect. No...- blargman

Hifiman he-400i Impressions and Discussion
That's an interesting can, how does it compare to the he-400i? I have both the 400i and some LCD-2C's but I'd like a closed can to travel with. How does it compare to say a THX0- blargman

That seems antithetical to what a planar needs though isn't it? What's the output impedance/voltage output on that amp?- blargman

Just my 2 cents. I went from a TEAC UD-301 with 100mW + + 100 mW into 32ohms, to a Benchmark DAC1 which has something around 2.4W. I have to say I've noticed no difference in the headphone's acoustics. I also hear very little difference on my iphone though....so maybe I'm a deaf :D Though it...- blargman

Can anyone suggest an app/method of testing this generous gentleman's EQ? @Luckbad Very detailed thoughts. I dig it. I tend to agree with all points of the audio profile. The sonarworks LCD-2 profile helped unfog some areas but I think a very well made EQ could make these some headphones that...- blargman

Audeze has a 30day return policy? I have to say, I'm getting very tempted into returning these and buying a Clear. I love this headphone, but deep textured bass isn't my endgame. I guess I'm realizing I listen to a lot more acoustic and frankly this headphone is just a bit too muted in that area...- blargman

Does anyone feel the pads are a bit soft? My ear touches the driver housing on my right side and it bothers me to no end. Also curious still if anyone has any EQ suggestions. I've found bumping up the top end has made things really come alive a bit more, I'm very much looking forward to a...- blargman

What' EQ has anyone done on these so far? I've tried sonarworks and using the LCD-2 setting. It's not too bad. I prefer the upfront upper end more. It really brings out things I felt kinda sounded like they were coming thru a hole in a wall. Thoughts?- blargman

Is it weird that the headphone makes a strange crinkling noise due to what I'm thinking is air pressure when you push or slightly pull back and forth with them on?- blargman

Not a question, it's a hard upgrade from the 400i. Better bass extension, better build quality. Those are objective truths, subjectively, easier to listen to for longer periods, softer upper end without sounding hollow. Just my2c. Never owned an m1060.- blargman

Audeze LCD-2C Classic - Impressions Thread
I own both of these, with an EQ, the 400i do have a decent amount of bass to give, but the highs can be a tad on the fatiguing side. The LCD2C is a decent amount better though, the lows have much more of a warmness and quality to them. An EQ'd 400i has punch but it feels artificial a bit, not to...- blargman

TEAC UD-301 vs Benchmark DAC1 USB
Given my inability to tell the difference, I'm almost interested in selling both and getting something portable that I can take with me that has a low output impedance and high power output. Though I'm not sure what that would be. The chord mojo perhaps? Though it doesn't really fit either of...- blargman

I've never understood the mentality of not wanting to EQ. I had someone say something similar when I suggested using a preset to bump the sub bass on the he400i. The way I see it is every headphone is going to have a tone and a character. No headphone in existence is going to have complete tonal...- blargman

TEAC UD-301 vs Benchmark DAC1 USB
So I've been sitting here trying to A<>B these headphone DAC/AMP's, and I'm just not seeing much of a difference in their performance at all. I'm trying to find a difference but perhaps I just don't have the ear for it. They sound nearly identical. I'm currently listening to them on some Audeze...- blargman

My only gripe with these headphones, is I wish the top metal posts, stuck straight up so I looked like an alien...please fix in next release Audeze. Sound is definitely more relaxed and deeper than the he-400i's. I do prefer the he-400i I bit more for string heavy music, acoustic. For...- blargman
