HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
I just got the same message despite asking for instructions previously. I would have to ship it to hifiman in the USA for a retrofit and I'm based in the UK. :/- DanPluck

HiFiman HE-500 (HE as in High End) Proving to be an enjoyable experience in listening.
FYI I just received the HE-560 headband to replace the HE-500 band and it is not a direct replacement :( The screws that secure the HE-500 band to the cups are a significantly smaller diameter than the moulded protrusions on the HE-560 headband. As it stands you will need to drill out the...- DanPluck

Marantz HD-DAC1
I have the Audio-GD Compass 2, which is about the same power wise. I don't really need an upgrade but the marantz is shiny and would match my stereo setup, PM15s2 etc.- DanPluck

Marantz HD-DAC1
Excellent thanks, exactly the pairing i had in mind. My only concern that it could be a little under powered (having used my HE500 with a Cyrus 3 Speaker Amp it really opens them up) and a little warm.- DanPluck

Yha Thank you. I thought i would try and keep it as stock as possible, it would have been really easy to turn it in to Dans technicolour reciever. Im very happy with the result and it sounds fantastic. I will have a play with the Akai-AM2450 at the weekend.- DanPluck

Absolutely silent, black or whatever word you want to use. Please remember Cyrus are a very well respected brand, who build a quality product. I let you don't like it you will get your money back by selling it.- DanPluck

I can personally recommend as used Cyrus 1/2/3 integrated. Very reasonable on the used market, small form factor and excellent sounding. I have owned the 1 and currently own the 3. Very good amps for driving the HE500.- DanPluck

Audio-gd Compass 2 amp/DAC Impressions thread
I'm on my mobile so I can't give you a detailed rundown but I owned the matrix and then upgraded to the compass 2 when I had the HE400. I now own the HE500 and the C2, while the matrix is a fine amp, the compass 2 is in a different class, especially when it comes to orthos.- DanPluck

Well, after a month without using a full size amplifier as my headphone amp with the HE500's, i have come crawling back into the fray. This time I'm using a Cyrus 3 amplifier and its magnificent, its also an excellent visual match for my A-GD Compass 2. I can thoroughly recommend these little...- DanPluck

The iBasso DX50 Thread - Latest firmware: 1.9.5 - June 30, 2016
I have had my DX50 for a couple of weeks now (it was purchased used) and its a great little device other than the freezing. It randomly freezes and requires a hard reset. There appears to be no rhyme nor reason to the resets. Has anyone had the same experience and can offer some advice? ...- DanPluck
