I wanted to get Denon D2000 but when I read one of their amazon reviews, it says they are not the first manufacturer that comes to mind when you talk about the world's best headphones.  What other headphones are good at $300?

I've got a fast gaming laptop.  I'm going to get a Fiio E7 DAC and a pair of headphones for $300.  What do you recommend?  I listen to pop music, rap, hip hop, electronica.  But I'm mostly going to be gaming and watching movies with these headphones.

Okay I plugged in the mini headphone wire that inputs to the fiio E5 into the digital S/PDIF output of my laptop.  It works.  It sounds a little better, I think.  BTW I have a MSI GX660R-060US laptop.

Is this equal to a DAC?  Is it okay to connect my amp directly to digital S/PDIF out?  I have a fiio E5 amp and I am using Beyerdynamic DT440 headphones.

OKay this next question is going to sound even more paranoid but can listening to poor quality sound (I don't condone piracy but lets say I am watching a CAM of a movie I downloaded) damage my headphones?

Okay I changed my mind.  I want easy to drive headphones.  I don't care if they are open or closed.  And I don't want in-ear or earbuds, I want full size headphones that are big and flashy (but tasteful) and that I can show off.

Hi, I purchased a Sennheiser HD 428, it sounds alright. Now I am looking for an amp for them. What is the cheapest amp I can get that will improve sound the most?

Out of the laptop they are definately not as loud as my Grados. Everything sounds quieted except for the bass which it seems like there is too much of. But maybe they need a "burn in." Even the bass itself doesn't sound as "punchy" as they do on my Grados.

Okay, this is little off topic, but I have a question. Is it okay to leave your headphones plugged into the headphone jack at all times? I usually plug my headphones into my laptop's headphone jack and leave my laptop on all the time. Is this okay? I don't play music when I'm away from the computer.

How exactly do you burn in? Are you really supposed to put it extra loud on purpose for long periods of time? Wouldn't that damage your headphones?
