So I might have thrown out my old ER4s...
The DBA02s do look good, but I'm a bit worried about the build quality. How do they stack up against the ER4s? I'll also probably pick up a RE0 just for a backup, but I guess, is the ER4(s?) still relevant enough today versus all the new ones?- anthonyhong

So I might have thrown out my old ER4s...
Budget is about 100-150, used or new. Used I'd prob get more for my money though. I'm not sure if I want something different in terms of sound than my ER4s. I've been quite faithful and they were my one and only portable earphones.- anthonyhong

So I might have thrown out my old ER4s...
I am at a loss. I can't find them. My last definite knowledge of their last location is in a picture dated a month ago when they were hanging on my wall. But they're gone and I've torn my house apart looking for them :(. The worst part is, I don't know if I've truly lost them or simply can't...- anthonyhong

I couldn't get a hold of a matching swifcraft, living in Canada my selection is balls, so I used a neutrik female connector I got from take 5 covered in matte heatshrink to somewhat match the finish of the switchcraft (rather than the Neutrik's original glossy finish)- anthonyhong

I'm not as creative with my stand... they either get thrown up on my curtain rod clothing rack, or on my bear shaped night lamp :P- anthonyhong

Mini^3 Quiescent current check problem
Hi guys I haven't been home lately so I didn't get to work on it, but I took another look this morning. I reflowed the chip like you suggested ShinyFalcon, and well I think a few things got sorted out, however the current check still reads at 100. Redoing the dc current check, it now...- anthonyhong

Mini^3 Quiescent current check problem
Hey MisterX, thanks for your reply I'll try to get some pictures later, but in the mean time: 1) Rail splitter: on V- and V+, 6.83V on V- and IG 3.4V 2) DC offset check: on OG to IG ~ 1mv, then it slowly drops to 0 on OL to IG ~ open on OR to IG ~ open opamp dead ?- anthonyhong

Mini^3 Quiescent current check problem
Hey guys, I just put this together last night and going through the initial checks (The Mini³ Portable Stereo Headphone Amplifier), I am having a problem. The Sanity checks were okay, but with the quinescent current check I am getting a reading of 100 mA :| Any ideas?- anthonyhong

Show us your vintage headphones!
Sorry for the thread digging, but I didn't want to start a new thread for something which I believe can be answered here. Is it relatively common practice to use vintage headphone housings and replace the drivers with some new ones? I just went hunting on ebay and found at least 5 vintage...- anthonyhong

Of course I'm not sure i want to glue them back shut, I'll prob put a screw into the side and tap the hole. Edit: Prob should have used black wire throughout, the red really stands out through the mesh- anthonyhong

The big cable is just mogami 2534 with some sexy nylon sleeving . The cable going through the headband is some 22 18 awg wire sleeved in some really thin techflex plastic sleeving. It was actually a hell of a lot easier threading the thicker wire through the headband as opposed to a thin, flimsy...- anthonyhong

Not sure how I got into this, but I'm knee deep
Some really great response, I've got a lot to read up on, but maybe I'll start with getting a really nice sound card then . I would like some enlightenment how I would apply a scope to testing audio equipment. I have an idea, but some reading would be great . Uncle Erik, wow thank you for the...- anthonyhong

This has absolutely nothing to do with audio, but its a build, and according to OP on page one, anything goes . This is more practical use, it gets moved around and all, and its not very pretty but its my first real build project. Hopefully I'll learn a thing or two about working materials to...- anthonyhong
