Sansa Clip Zip or Clip+ ?
I just bought the Clip+ and also spent some time considering the Clip Zip. The only reason I would have gone for the Clip Zip is for album art and I don't really care about that. I wanted a nice little portable FLAC DAP. Got the Clip+ & a 32GB card for $55. After tweaking my Rockbox sound...- WittyName

Foobar2000 Dolby Headphone config - Comment & discuss!
I'm curious RPGWizard, have you seen the foobar Crossfeed DSP? It aims to subtly soften channel separation in headphones and give a more natural room sound. I have been playing with the settings and I feel that it improves fidelity when placed between the Dolby Headphone and Electri-Q DSPs...- WittyName

Foobar2000 Dolby Headphone config - Comment & discuss!
Also the manual setup would allow me to update my installed foobar rather than being stuck at 1.1.6 forever. I did try the manual install but Electri-Q was constantly dying. I'll have to look into how to keep the portable version up to date.- WittyName

Foobar2000 Dolby Headphone config - Comment & discuss!
Thank you for this RPGWiZaRD, it is just the tweak I was looking for. I was running no processing out of Foobar 2000 (other than a crossover) to my gear and it sounded nice, but could use a bit of a wider soundstage. I listen mostly to Punk and Hardcore and so I'm looking to back the middle...- WittyName

Samsung galaxy nexus
I just ordered a Galaxy Nexus 4G, pretty excited. It sounds like Neutron offers the best sound quality app. I'll have to give that a shot, what about Equalizer?- WittyName

Quality EQ apps for ipod/iphone/ipad
I just got EQu also, and I'll have to say it is great. There are still a few features I'd like to see; Better memory management (iPod multi-tasking takes a big hit) Player gold-plating (last.fm integration, cover flow, etc.) The ability to type in my EQ values. I have fat fingers that...- WittyName

[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM
It's been mentioned but laptop headphone ports are pretty noisy. I haven't found a sure-fire way of cutting this noise down, but it comes from several places: Poor grounding Hard drive EM interference Fan noise and EM interferance Try unplugging your power supply, see if that...- WittyName

[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM
also, the break in period for the RE0's is significant. I've probably got 50 hours in on them and they keep getting better. I've heard that they can take 200 hours for a full break in.- WittyName

[Pictorial Review] FiiO E1
Fiio E1 arrived today. Sounds like a perfect pairing with my RE0s. I like how the low-end is enhanced without getting muddy. The midrange sounds like it has a wider soundstage. Worth $20 for sure.- WittyName

[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM
thx for your input semisight. i'm listening to my RE0s through some amplified computer speakers and i think i'll take the low-end benefit over the squeezed soundstage. i really plan on using this at the office so the cable length shouldn't be much of a concern; unless of course i fall in love...- WittyName

[Pictorial Review] FiiO E1
I plugged my RE0s into my amplified computer speakers and damn, the bass is there. Now I can't wait for my Fiio E1 to arrive so I can get something close to this sound from my iPod.- WittyName

[Pictorial Review] FiiO E1
just ordered the Fiio E1 to pair with my HiFiMan RE0's. i ordered it because i generally have to turn the iPod up to 60% volume to get a good level so the RE0's seem like they want a little more power. also hoping the amp will give the bass a bit more oomph.- WittyName
