Grado Fan Club!
I'm curious, why would you buy SR80e when you already own SR80i and several much more expensive headphones (RS1, GS1000 etc)?- Win0ver

Grado Fan Club!
Keep in mind, open headphones like Grados leak a lot of sound, and don't isolate at all, so they aren't always a good fit for portable. (Everyone will hear your music, and you will hear everything around you.) Grados are also pretty easy to drive; for the same price you'd be better of...- Win0ver

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
Well I figured either a) someone has tried it and it worked great or b) someone could point me to a portable amp that actually works with HD650. Seems like every portable amp is made for 16-150 ohm...- Win0ver

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
FiiO E18 to go with HD650, yay or nay? I'm asking since the recommended impedance for the E18 is 16 to 150 ohm...- Win0ver

Help! Sennheiser HD600 lover looking to love Grados (SR225e, RS2e or RS1e)
I actually don't; I really found my SR225 to have the Grado signature sound, and every step up only offers marginal improvement. Of course you'll find people on this forum who say the difference is 'day and night' but keep in mind those are the same people who claim to hear drastic...- Win0ver

Help! Sennheiser HD600 lover looking to love Grados (SR225e, RS2e or RS1e)
Given these prices, I think the SR225e are your best bet. Grado's sound very different than Sennheisers so it's probably not worth it to spend a lot on them if you don't know whether you like them or not. It seems quite a few people on this forum think the RS1e are worse than the RS1i which...- Win0ver

Rising cost of "audiophile" equipment and importance of bias/blind testing
For me the biggest problem in all of this is that it has become hard to find useful information. For example, I used to own ER4S and K501s. The ER4S pretty much need an amp to be able to listen to classical music at acceptable volume out of a smartphone. So after a bit of research, I had...- Win0ver

Little Dot Long-Term Reliability Data Collection Thread: What Have You Experienced?
Yes, the II preceded the II+. I swapped the tubes and the buzzing switched channel. I replaced the tube at some point.- Win0ver

Little Dot Long-Term Reliability Data Collection Thread: What Have You Experienced?
-Little dot II (not MKII) -Within a year one of the tubes started making a buzzing sound on the right channel. -After moving to a new place, when I plugged it in it started making a pretty loud noise. Smelt like burnt plastic and stopped working altogether after 2 years of ownership. Did...- Win0ver

Ah, just got a pair of RS2e's and sure enough, just like my Sr225 from 10 years ago, the left cord is shorter than the right :P- Win0ver

Are my ER-4S doomed?
So I tried changing the filters on my ER4... and only the green screen came off. The metal ring is stuck in and is preventing me from inserting another filter, and I can't find a way take it out. Dirt will inevitably get in without a filter ; should I just go ahead and buy another pair...- Win0ver

Little Dot 1 and 2 Tube head-amps. Anyone ever heard or own one?
According to the official Little Dot forum (www.little-tube.com), the tubes they used don't glow. That was my biggest disappointment when I received my LD2 . The front tubes also stay cold on my amp ; my guess is that it's how it's supposed to be.- Win0ver

Does the ER4P improve over time? i certainly hope so..
I was also disappointed on the day I received my ER4Ps because the triflanges were way too big... I also found the bi-flanges on the ER6 much easier to wear I have to cut the little tip off the tri-flanges to be able to insert them ; try it. They soften up after some time ; took me about...- Win0ver
