Very safe. I had two pair of Grados for over 20 years, very little changes were made to my models in that time.  

I'm tempted to try a pair. I had comfort issues with my HD600's(too tight)I had a couple of years ago, but I didn't have them long and I assume fit would improve with time.

Thankfully, I haven't made any big purchase mistakes on headphones so far. I'd have to say my Yamaha hph-200's. Not too comfortable and better choices for the money. If this thread were about headphone amps, it would be a different story for me.

HD 598 Yamaha HPH-200   That's it for me right now. I've owned several others over the years. I'm shopping for another pair now.

My 598's are the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned or tried. I was thinking of buying a pair of 558's for my computer. Maybe another pair of 598's, if there's a comfort difference.

They look fine to me, online or in person.   I guess I'm not enough of a geek to find any pair of headphones sexy.

No cracks on mine, but I'm getting a short in my cable connection. How long is the warranty on these headphones?

I was lucky enough to demo some LCD-2's this week. I really loved the the sound, but had a couple of fit/comfort issues that are holding me back. Anyone else have problems with the cable connections hitting your collarbone/shoulders and dislodging the headphones? I had it happen several times...

I seeking suggestions on a headphone amp. Low to mid price point. Headphones will be mid priced full size like Sennheiser HD600/650 or comparable.     The problem is, I don't know what I want, or do or don't like and I just need to start somewhere. I've owned two pair of Grado SR80's for...
