[Review] Sennheiser IE800: Impressions, Frustration and a bunch of What-Ifs

There are some comply tips for the ie800 supposedly...    http://www.complyfoam.com/products/sen-isolation/   I've use the comply t500 tips before and they work reasonably well but from time to time they may fall off since they don't have the locking mechanism built in...

    IE800 vs HD600/HD650 comparison

I don't have a specific comparison to the HD600/HD650 but I do own the IE800's and they are awesome.  By far my favorite IEM's in terms of comfort, quality, and sound.  I have owned SE846's, AK Layla's, and several others but I keep coming back to the IE800's for their size and quality.  The...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Your best bet is through his website through email. He generally responds very very quickly and is a very nice person to work with. The cable is expensive but the quality is awesome. I'm listening to the cable he sent me now with my shure se846's. Peter made me a custom cable for my se846's as...

As an FYI for anybody interested, I got an email from Peter today and he sent me a picture of the cable.  Here it is!  I should get it next week...

BEst active speakers for pc:your opinion

I really like my b+w mm-1's. Others here seem to like the audioengine a2's and a5's. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

[Review] Sennheiser IE800: Impressions, Frustration and a bunch of What-Ifs

I wouldn't do it... I think you'd be better off (safer) going with some Westone's or some other authentic brand.  That or just save up to buy from an authorized source.

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Maybe my ears aren't as sensitive but I used my IE800's with some spare Comply Tx-500's tips and haven't felt that it muffled the sound at all.  I plan on getting some Tx-200's later since I've heard that they are a bit tighter fit around the IE800's and should be a little more secure... for...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Keep in mind that those are not sold by "Amazon".  It's a third party retailer... You'd probably be ok but I've heard of people having issues dealing with third party retailers on Amazon, particularly when it comes to returns.  The price is pretty good though...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

The upper portion of the cable was stiff(er) than the lower portion... so much so that it retained the shape of the case after having it in storage for a while.  Sennheiser just asked me to send back the old ones and once they received them they promptly sent out new ones to me.  I just got...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Well I got an e-mail from their tech support and then got redirected to a product specialist who was very helpful in getting my IE800's replaced!  I just got the new ones and the cable does indeed appear to be more flexible on the upper.  Hopefully they stay this way...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

I actually still have my se535's... To me, I find the 535's to sound much flatter than the se846's... the se846's sound better to me in almost every way and the lower impedance helps a lot with driving from mobile devices.  I'm on the fence on whether or not to keep the se535's.  The se535's...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

My cable also gets a little stiff but I usually find that after wearing it for a bit it loosens up... does this happen with yours or is it always stiff?  I wonder if they intentionally designed it this way?

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

Do you have any pics of the case with your earphones in it? I've seen this case before but wonder how tightly wound the cable has to be to fit inside? Also, if possible could you give some measurements of the case? Their website doesn't give much detail and it's a lot of $$ to be spending on a...

    Sennheiser IE800 IEM's

True the SE846 does come with better overall accessories but I feel that the case that comes with the IE800 is much better than the SE846 but that's purely subjective.  I just like that the case was built explicitly for the IE800's whereas the Shure case is just a standard oval Shure case...
