Good plan. It'll be good to try some of the more expensive IEMs, hopefully universal versions of CIEMs too. Here's hoping there's an SE846 and IE800 for me to try.

Will there be lots of IEMs to try out? How are the hygiene issues dealt with?

Ah, probably should have made it clearer, it's the Sennheiser tips that have been causing problems, I've just ordered some MS Spiral Dots from eBay (for far too much money...), we'll see how they go. Thanks to josee14 too.

Those of you using JVC Spiral Dots, do you find they give you a better fit? Stay in easier? I'm very happy with my IE8s, but somedays they just don't want to stay in my ears properly.   How do the sizes match up? I either use the small or medium Sennheiser tips, but I'm wondering if I should...

Thanks for the feedback. I've had my IE8 for almost exactly 4 years, I'm happy with how they sound (the bass is a bit bloaty.., and they don't always maintain a good seal), but recently I've found myself need something with much better isolation. Plus change can be good sometimes...   SE846...

I'm thinking about getting some IE8 as I'm looking for some shallow fit IEMs and these seem like the nearest thing to mobile HD650s. But before I lay down the cash, I was wondering if Sennheiser's CX200/300/400 use the same tips and provide a similar fit? I'm very fussy when it comes to IEMs...
