Apples iPod Mp3 player
Yeah, it looks good. 5 gigs of music and 10 hours playback between "charges" are is plenty good. But did you see the new iTunes 2: Built-in 10-band equalizer with 22 EQ presets. MP3 CD-burning capability — over 150 songs per disc. New Crossfader for smooth transitions between songs...- rodchenko

DJ headphones: survey
v6's without a doubt. People are starting to use the v700's more, esp. if they're younger and have to have something shiny and silver to make themselves look impressive, but most used v6. At the college radio station we used v6's, most dj's I know used v6's, I used to use v6's when I spun (god...- rodchenko

Bass question - DJ's, others please help
Quote: Originally posted by MacDEF The other problem here is one of perception. I just listened to "ultrasonic sound" by Hive, and it has some nice, deep, tight bass. However, it's not "boomy" -- as I said, it's TIGHT driven from a Max through both HD600s and MDR-V6 (THE "bass reference"...- rodchenko

Bass question - DJ's, others please help
Sennheiser HD 580's with a tested JMT penguin amp, gold plated connections, out of a mac G4. (I need an adaptor before I can run out of my home denon cd player) but again, the vast majority of music is fine- gorgeous in fact. It's just the extremely low and powerful signals in some D&B songs...- rodchenko

Bass question - DJ's, others please help
Ok, so I have a number of questions I was hoping people could weigh in on. This is sort of related to headphones / amps and general discussion, so feel free to move it wherever it's supposed to go I have a decent headphone set up, but I'm not sure this is really a question of brands. Most...- rodchenko

what's the point of comparing headphones online?
------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ugh. All I can say is that it really depends on who's writing the reviews. If you go strictly by the numbers, you've got a situation like audioreivew. Often, I find that you should check out the films that got all 5 stars...- rodchenko

what's the point of comparing headphones online?
"If 75%+ critics says it's good then there's got to be something in that which makes it good. IF a film gets less then 40% approval from critics all over the country then the chances of me watching it is slim" ---- Ugh. All I can say is that it really depends on who's writing the reviews. problems with PM, emailing
ok, I think that cleared it up. I'm still confused because it was only working intermittently before, but I HAD changed my email the other day and that turned out to be it. Thanks.- rodchenko

Beyerdynamic bass / amps experience?
not yet - when I do, there will be a full review between the Sennheiser 580's and the Beyerdynamic 770's with different types of music, and perhaps with and without a JMT amp. Just wait And re: duh-m-bass, ok - that's clarified. Because the last thing you need listening to drum n' bass is...- rodchenko

problems with PM, emailing
Hate to use a public thread to ask this kind of question, but maybe others are having similar problems. I registered a couple weeks ago, returned the email and everything, but I can't send or recieve PM's - actually, that's a lie, yesterday I was able - inexplicibly - to send a PM to Tim D, but...- rodchenko

Beyerdynamic bass / amps experience?
Looking to hear from anyone who has experience with Beyerdynamic cans and different kinds of amps (or lack thereof). Specifically the 770 - can anyone weigh in on how particular amp builds affect the sound? Especially in the bass department - I don't have a dedicated headphone amp now, but...- rodchenko

Ok, I'm a wuss: the 580's HURT!
ok dhwilkin, let's trade. No, I just can't decide whether to break them in, or sell them while they're brand new. So far I haven't bent them at all, I'm sure they'll bend a little over time, but I think for whatever reason I prefer the headband type (like the AKGs) - though the weight of hi-fi...- rodchenko

Ok, I'm a wuss: the 580's HURT!
Wow, I know everyone loves these things to death, and I have to admit the sound is phenomenal, but these things HURT! I've adjusted them and they still feel as if two muscle-bound men are pushing at the sides of my head. I'm used to my supraural sennheiser 455's being light as a feather and...- rodchenko
