Nice. I received my Play unit Vivid edition last weak. Even before proper burn-in, I notice improvements in all level when compared to my asus essence stx ii with MUSES01, but of course that should be expected since it's Class A discrete OPAMP with ESS SABRE DAC. I agreed, instead of a fancy box, I'd rather get extra earpads, a pair of smc connectors for custom cabling, and extra cables. Also, I really wish they do away with the screw on smc connectors. I have yet to find a good amp. I am eyeing the Hifiman EF-100 and the Lyr 2. I am aiming for a...- nos024

ASUS Xonar Essence STX II
Been using this card with Hifiman HE-560 for two weeks now. I can vouch for it and say it sounds better than my $500 DacMagic Plus (using the headphone out). The HE-560 can be somewhat boring because for the most part, it is neutral sounding. If you are looking at a more "colored" and "more bass" try looking at the HE-500.
