Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

It's not all going to be black chassis, is it (like Freya N)? That would be a major buzzkill for those of us who have all silver Schiit... sorry to say... Speaking of which, has the quest for reliable/consistent silver finish completely failed? Last I read, you guys were working towards a...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Congrats on this accomplishment, @Jason Stoddard. I think this is the product I've been most excited about over the past couple years. Unfortunately, every piece of Schiit in my audio rack is silver, so I'm stuck. Here's hoping that silver works out... Will Urd suffer from the same lack of...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

He also confirmed earlier in this thread that the planned high-end phono preamp will be in a Freya-sized chassis. Modius looks like a great product! If the Saga in one of my 2-channel systems had balanced inputs and outputs, I would swap out my old Bifrost and replace it with Modius.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

So... anyone else besides me checking here daily for that teased product announcement from @Jason Stoddard? ;) Last I saw, they were just waiting on photos (unless I read it wrong).

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Now keep in mind, I don't mean "hey guys, what do you want us to make?" I mean something along the lines of, "hey guys, this is what's cooking in R&D land; what is everyone most interested in out of these [two, three, four] *potential* products?" Still probably a can of worms, though. lol.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Thanks for clarifying the direction this could take, eventually! My heart sank a little bit when I read "not for a LOONGG time!" I totally understand, but man... in Schiit terms, the emphasis on "long" means we should probably stop talking about it altogether for a while on this forum. I...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

@Jason Stoddard - I will be following any news of an end-game phono stage from Schiit with GREAT interest; I have been waiting for you guys to do something along these lines for quite some time. I know it's not Schiit's practice to comment in detail on future products, but given the...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Just resurrected my cute lil' Schiit stack + DT 770 Pro 250 ohm headphones for the first time in over a year, after moving offices at work. I forgot how enjoyable this setup is (especially with Loki in the chain), even compared to my Audeze LCD-3 + Gungnir MB + Asgard 2 at home!

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

Nah, you're fine -- I thought he had touched on both subjects: interconnects and wire internal to a system. Sounds like he might have been a bit more into the esoterica of the high-end market at the time... at least more so than now, at Schiit. ;)

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

Interesting! Didn’t know that. That’s actually a higher-priced cable than I would have expected, but this was all simply inferred by me from various posts of his. I still haven’t strayed away from the PYST XLR (Straight Wire) cables in my setup... with the Freya stacked on top of the Gungnir...

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

I found this interesting as well! I hadn’t known this previously about him producing interconnects. I imagine it would be funny to hear a conversation between Jason and Mike on the subject of wire/interconnects — I think we all know what Jason’s opinion is on interconnects (see his profile if...

Thought this would be appropriate to add to @Baldr 's thread: Stereophile re-posted a 1992 interview with Mike Moffat today -- pretty cool! https://www.stereophile.com/content/mike-moffat-re-creating-musical-event

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Hey, at least it wasn't one of your data converters or something like that! Does your differential line receiver have a standardized pinout, or are you using a more esoteric part? Most of the designs I do with differential line receivers/drivers have standard pinouts (granted, I'm talking...

Rooms in Altium Designer? ;) Glad you are having the most fun you've ever had... you can't really ask for much more than that when it comes to work!

    Loki Mini Impressions

Received mine last Thursday and finally got a chance to play with it a bit over the weekend. My first impression is that this is a really, really nice tone control -- especially for the price. I tried it in two configurations: 1. Between my Gungnir MB and Asgard 2 amp feeding LCD-3 cans 2...
