It's time to upgrade...looking for ideas.
After a number of years of valiant service from my 160 GB iPod and my supermacro 3, it's time to upgrade. The iPod's battery is getting short and although it hasn't failed, that hard drive has to be on death's doorstep. I'm weighing the options of swapping out the harddrive for either a solid...- Low Fidelity

Looking for recommendations from all you audioholics
I've had a pair of Livewire Duals for a number of years and have enjoyed them thoroughly. Over the number of years I guess that livewires has changed hands and folded or something as such. Unfortunately, mine have given up the ghost so I'm shopping for new replacements with a budget of $300...- Low Fidelity

Longevity of LOD?
I bought one on Ebay and its been flawless. I bought a different type at Toys R Us. Its got a mini-usb that can charge/data and a triple sleeve 3.5mm jack for audio/video out (like the ipod dock). The only issue with this LOD is that I had to take the casing off, shorten it so I would work...- Low Fidelity

Help out an idiot!
Quote: Well, it won't replace the DAC, rather the built-in headphone amp – which is a great enough improvement indeed. You're so right. Quote: Is it possible to change the bitrate of an MP3? If so, does anyone have a program they recommend? mp3 are a compressed format...- Low Fidelity

Help out an idiot!
first and foremost, its the 'phones man. Seriously. You can spend all the money you want on amps and line outs and all kinds of wonderful, wallet depleting goodies but you're only going to sound as good as your weakest component. Once you've got yourself some great headphones, or at...- Low Fidelity

refurbished 5.5g ipod?
Quote: what does refurbished actually mean in this case? Are you talking about buying a refurbished ipod from Apple? If so, then you will be buying an ipod that was returned to apple for an undisclosed reason. The ipod was repaired. Anything blemished was most likely replaced...- Low Fidelity

...just a quick comment about those cases for ipod videos and classics... I found that "crap" gets under the case and scratches surface of the ipod. To solve this problem, i use the clear overlays. I usually swap them out every couple of months and give the ipod a good cleaning. My...- Low Fidelity
