    Grado e Series

Didn't know they have red boxes? But I know some of their sr-i came in white boxes... Probably, the colors mark something in their production process, like maybe year so and so equals to this color?

No, Grado switched to a light blue box for quite sometime. The blue box is less elongated than the original orange box design. I think it saves cost and also perhaps easier to store and ship more quantities.

    They look like a HP-1000.

I believe Bio-Rhythm point was that Grado was making unfounded claims that the revised E-series has audio improvements because there is not enough statistic measurements to prove such claims. IMO, sound improvement is a very subjective, personal thing. If suppose the i-series is very...

I thought of a headphone listening experiment. This will require two people and a sr80e with L cushion and the sr225e. I'm sure you all can see where this is going. One person will be handling the miscellaneous tasks of swapping the headphones and another will be the blindfolded listener.  ...

I'm one of those that complain . Can't be help when it's the first time wearing on-ear / Grado and reading about reviews about comfort issues.   IME, stretching the headband should be no 1. priority, it relieves much of the clamping force and "red ears/pain" issues.

The pads will soften up via the natural oil from our ears. Initially, the pads are rough on the edges. But after three days, they soften up, now I feel they are a bit squishy lol

Don't be discourage by these issues. I'm sure they will all go away once the headphone is accustomed to the head shape.

Same, I've these throbbing pain on the top of ear at night when I'm sleeping (No, I'm not wearing them to sleep lol)!

I'm also felt some pain along the "outer ear skeleton", and top of the ear ?? (not sure the proper scientific terms), can definitely see them getting red after an hour of usage.   Not sure if I'm just paranoid here but are the L-cush suppose to engulf the ears? My ears are smaller than the...

I think the price is the ultimate factor that turns most people away from buying Grado. Here in Asia, the price of rs2e from an authorized dealer is equivalent to a HD650, K702 & K712 Pro. So I believe many will compared them and choose the more heard-of brand with "better" structure quality...

I feel that as well, the L cush opens up the overall sound; background music does not get drown-out now. For fun, I've also tried reverse bowls which gives the lower mids more warm but the bass becomes boomy and some highs are less detailed. I'm having this instinct that the rs2e is my preferred...

    Grado e Series

I've been noticing this recommendation from the Grado SR80 Impression thread. I'll definitely look into it.     I thought so too; Few months back, I've demo the sr225e for around 30 mins which I wasn't able to grasp the sound signature totally; kept hearing the mids only. I think now that...
