Well, considering that i hadn't had this problem until i got the LOD, i'm inclined to think it's the LOD. i've had this iPod for almost two years, and have never had this kind of problem before. Normally, when i pause the iPod and let it sit for a few hours, the battery drain is very minimal...

i can't comment on the OK1s, but i do have the OK3s and Marshmallows (as well as an E5), and listen to quite a bit of death metal, and some post-rock as well. The OK3s are great! They definitely don't have the bass of the Marshmallows, but the mids are much more prominent, and there's just a lot...

Cardas makes a nice mini cable in 6" and 12" lengths. i use the 6" one with my E3. A bit odd since the cable cost twice as much as the amp did, but it's definitely higher quality than the one included. Plus, both ends have right angles, which is nice.

Hi there, long time lurker, occasional poster. i'm looking for a new pair of earbuds to use with my 5.5G iPod. Until recently, i'd mainly been using a pair of AKG K314Ps. i liked them, but the buds themselves are rather large, so i feel like i keep having to re-adjust them sometimes. Sound-wise...

i use the medium orange Shure E2c foams. They're a better fit and more comfortable (for my ears, at least), and the sound is better because of it.

The AKG K14P (or K314P, they're apparently the same) are nice earbuds for around $20 or so. Better than the stock iBuds, they're a lot clearer and fuller-sounding. Bass is a bit lean, but the Radio Shack foam earpads (thicker than the stock ones) improve the bass quite a bit.
