Surprisingly good eBay DAC - DA3-SA9227-PCM5102A

Nobody has any issues like DAC only working after booting? It sounds ok when it plays but if it loses connection for whatever reason, plugging it in while windows is up just fails. I reboot, plays again for days.

Thanks! Guess that means they got stock, minimum was 100 with typical vendor lead time of 12 weeks. Now the age old question, as someone who enjoys LME49720 in pretty much everything he can get them into, are the Muses02 really 10x as good?

With Digikey and Mouser having high minimum quantity requirements on Muses02 (if they even show stock), what's a good source for them?

6922 / 12AU7 Family Tube suggestions based on EF91 love needed (AKA: Back at it again)

Thanks, i am not sure how i would use the words on that chart vs how they were used there, hence me looking something comparative, while people might use different words, "sounds close to a EF91" should be much more universally useful.   Thanks in any way,   Daniel   Quote:

6922 / 12AU7 Family Tube suggestions based on EF91 love needed (AKA: Back at it again)

In my LD I+ i can use EF95, EF92, EF91 and 408A tubes (or tube families), i can't get away from the EF91 as my most used tubes, but also love me some of the various black plate 6AK5(W) tubes i have.   Based on this i would like to know which  6DJ8/6922/ECC88/6N11/6N23P or...

Matched is code for "you pay me way more money than this old crap is worth, but i take your $$ anyways, thanks bro" for the high $$ you could afford a few fun tubes and realize, while you can hear differences from tube type and brand to the next, you will never notice any imbalance, since they...

Quote: Maybe the gold brand 408 (which i didn't invest in, but do have a reputation of being good, not sure if it's the ipod syndrome "it's good because it's expensive"), the vanilla 408 are not as sweet as my EF91, tastes vary, which is why most anyone tries more than one if they try any...

    Interesting little DAC (optical/coax input)

Quote: That's debatable, wine in linux or straight in windows. :)   Nothing means anything to either of you if you have no baseline to compare it to is what i am saying. Easier to compare changes within one system (changing tubes to compare for me as example (is how tubes came up in...

    Interesting little DAC (optical/coax input)

Quote: I don't have wine setup to run rmaa, Then i'd need to run too many iterations to be able to compare the dac to something, since none of my old rmaa would compare to anything i'd measure right now. It's a do it roght or don't do it at all.   What matters is how it sounds in the...

    Interesting little DAC (optical/coax input)

Not a fan of the OPA2107...   But that's not what you asked about, so i looked for the noise floor with the dac linked and nothing playing and amp cranked up, and i saw the floor fell out, so nothing to report.

    Little Dot I+ Tube Rolling

You buy some cheap opamps for a couple pennies and sell them for $10? Huge profits. Exactly of like the "matched pair" on tubes price gouging. "Well i don't know, i just stick with a 'known good source'" ever see this mentioned anywhere? Because we "don't know" we buy $40 pairs, when we...

Digikey is the best source for me. And since i got the two OPA2107 "for free" with my I+, i know i would never buy them. LME49720 (aka LM4562) + shipping < 9.99 but in enjoyment the LME are > *  ;) Just good we don't all have the same taste and not one combination will manage to make...

Have you tried a LME49720 in your amp? (Good opamp for any phone)   Have you tried some black plate 6AK5W? (Should all have a low end better suited for K702)   IF the K702 were known for their low end, i'd suggest the LME49720+EF91 combo that's rockin my HFI-780 :) (EF91 have amazing...

    Linux for sound?

The dual booters lurking should just plug in their uDAC, boot linux and check 'dmesg' and or 'lsusb' for info after they plug in the uDAC with linux running. ;)

    Linux for sound?

Quote:   I was referring to the specs as means to compare a device with typical usb1.1 specs vs one going above it. I was not praising the Transit for its amazingness, it just wasn't actually horrible. (You can find reviews going either way, it does a great job as transport, sounds...

    Linux for sound?

If i can make a m-audio transit work in linux, which does more and records too. (Intended as a transport for another dac, it actually doesn't sound too bad for $80, is now finally doing its actual job of sending bits to another DAC)   What's in the uDAC? (as in what chip) i can only find...
