    Shure SRH1840 and SRH1440 Unveiled!

Yeah, I re-watched that video presentation and looked over the "coming-soon" stuff on their website just after my last post. Like another poster in this thread, something over $500 will likely be out of reach for me. I'm a lot more interested in this headphone if it's around $500. I knew that...

    Shure SRH1840 and SRH1440 Unveiled!

From what I have seen so far, I'd say they were designed to compete more along the lines of the hd600/650, k701, and dt880pro. I would like to see the srh1440 at something like 349 and srh1840 at 399 or 449. Heck, maybe they're open-backed alternatives to their similarly model numbered...

    Shure SRH1840 and SRH1440 Unveiled!

According to the specs on post #1 it is the srh1440 that weighs 343g. The srh1840 weighs 268g. 268g is almost right in between the srh750dj and srh840 weights according to the specs on shure's website.  In my experience, 268g seems like a good weight for a full size headphone. Heavy enough to...

Yamaha HPH-200 - whose rebrands are these?

I have the Yamahas. I believe they are based on the audio technica ath ep700. I've seen pics of the ep700 driver and they look very similar, if not identical. Their earpads look similar too. I have not directly compared the two headphones. The main differences appear to be the driver housing...

Sennheiser HD-25 II new, very shrill?

Nice waterfall plots. Those plots would better explain what I'm hearing from the HD25 than a straight FR graph. I'm having a look through that thread. Nice work, I subscribed.

Sennheiser HD-25 II new, very shrill?

Yes, I still have the HD25s. They were my second head-fi related purchase. I've had them since July 2008. I don't think I'll ever part with them and I still use them regularly. They're very useful and are a good reference point to have around when comparing headphones.

Sennheiser HD-25 II new, very shrill?

My ears never agreed with headroom's hd25 graph. I have the the srh750djs and the hd25s too and I find that the hd25s can be more prone to sibilance than the srh750djs. When I find there is sibilance problem through the hd25s, lowering the volume usually solves it. After lowering the volume the...

I'm definitely interested. I listen to a wide variety of genres. Almost everything. I have the head-fi open your ears tracks for testing. I know my way around a camera too. For portable sources I use either a touch 4g, fuze or clip+ as sources. My portable headphone/earphone collection includes...

    Shure SRH550DJ: Reviews and Impressions

Quote: Yes the headband itself is very similar to the 750dj, which I stated earlier is a bummer. I think its kind of unfortunate that shure is commited to this headband design. I wouldn't consider any of the shure headphones I've tried extremely comfortable. For me, they're not...

    Shure SRH550DJ: Reviews and Impressions

I've had these for about a month now and I think it's safe to say that they have been burned in. I'm really liking these headphones. Here's a frequency graph I found:     This graph and the graphs they have for some of my other headphones match my observations pretty closely. I've been...

    Shure SRH550DJ: Reviews and Impressions

@LizardKing1, Thanks for the heads up. However, I'm pretty sure there's no way for these pads to be like new. They've been due for a change for awhile now. I'll remember your tip once I get replacements though. Thanks again.

    Shure SRH550DJ: Reviews and Impressions

I updated my original post with pics. Quote: Right now I would say that there is slightly less bass than the 750dj and it is more on the deep/soft/slow/rumbling side. Not punchy or fast like how the hd25 is. The parts of the frequency spectrum that are standing out are actually the...

    Shure SRH550DJ: Reviews and Impressions

Thought I'd start a thread for these.   I have them now and impressions are pretty good so far. Seems like they're built well. They don't make creaky noises when adjusting them like the SRH750DJ. They still have the flat top/square head syndrome though, so that's kind of a bummer. The ear...

    AKG K430 Impressions Thread

I've had mine for about an hour. Initial impressions are mostly positive. I'm liking pretty much everything about them so far. Only thing is that they are a little dry sounding. Comfort is about what I expected. Build quality is slightly better than I expected. Right now, I'd say they're not bad...

Phonak Audéo to bring out Multi-Armature Driven Earphone in 2011!

For me, I think that saying, "I can't wait." would be an understatement. I've been very satisfied with my pfe 112 experience and the efforts phonak made to solve the issues the originals had. I've been a customer from the beginning and they have been nothing but professional every time I've...

DJ Headphones in the $100-250 Price Range?

Yes, you are correct. The srh750djs were designed from the ground up with djs in mind, the hd25s were not. That didn't stop them from becoming popular with the dj community though. The fact that parts were replaceable helped to make them popular. It wasn't until after then, that sennheiser...

    what are these headphones?

Near the end of the video, David is using the beats spin dj headphones. imho, they're the most interesting phones in the entire beats lineup. I don't think they've been released yet. As mentioned earlier, the other guy in the video is wearing the beats studios in white.   edit: i guess...
