    Review: Fiio E7

I totally agree. Should be simple enough to fix, I would think.

First impressions of the Hifiman RE-ZEROs (first pair of IEMs!)

Hmm, I just got my RE-ZERO's. Impressions after a few minutes of listening: they don't sound that different from my RE0's. Can't really name any differences af of now.

First impressions of the Hifiman RE-ZEROs (first pair of IEMs!)

I have a Fiio LOD (the most basic one, the L1 I think) and an iBasso one. The iBasso is almost double the cost, but I doubt it adds more SQ than the Fiio one. I bought it because I needed another LOD and it looked gorgeous :)   Fiio L1:   iBasso CB03   -edit- Whoops, I just read...

Worth getting the FiiO E7 over E1 and or E5?

If you do not need the DAC but feel you want to upgrade, maybe you could wait for the E11?    -edit- Heh, maybe I should've checked the date of the last post.. sorry for the bump!

First impressions of the Hifiman RE-ZEROs (first pair of IEMs!)

I'm not sure what an LOD is. I just searched and found Line Out Dock. Looking into it right now, what is their function as far as SQ goes?   It lets you use the Line-out part of your player, and bypass the amp section of the player; the sound is fed directly into your (external) amp...

First impressions of the Hifiman RE-ZEROs (first pair of IEMs!)

Oh my RE0's are still in perfect condition, I just want to have both. :P From what I've read around here they are quite different in their presentation, so I'm curious to compare them.

First impressions of the Hifiman RE-ZEROs (first pair of IEMs!)

Nice read, I'm glad you like them! I understand from your review that you are not (yet) using a LOD on your player, maybe that would be a good next step. I definitely noticed some improvement (I have the E5 as well).   I currently own the RE0 but could not resist to buy the RE-ZERO's at...

[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM

Quote: Maybe that's an older batch you are talking about, since these phones seem to undergo minor changes every now and then. I bought them just a few months ago and the cable looks as solid as any other earphone I have. Sure, they do not compare to the build quality of Etymotics but...

    Head-Direct RE0 Appreciation Thread

I just put on the larger stock biflange tips, which I had removed instantly when I got the RE0's because I thought they were way too large for my ears.   But with a little practice (and having bought Etymotics in the meantime, and using their triflanges) they fit perfectly now. In...

Best earphones for iPod Classic 80 GB

If you got rid of your previous phones because of muffled sound, you're gonna be in for a treat with the RE0's, they are extremely clear and bright. I can't comment on the S4's, I don't have them. I doubt they do treble better than the RE0's though.

[REVIEW] Head-Direct RE0 - a new contender for the best IEM

I actually find the cable to be pretty strong, much better than the PL-30, for instance. The strain relief at the plug is huge, feels very durable.

Those are all features that come in really handy when DJ'ing. The L-connector is more favorable too make the cable run downwards when you're standing behind a mixer. Additional length is always nice when you're reaching for your records or whatever ;)   Quote:

I've talked a few DJ friends into getting one too.. Their first reaction is always "that thing is ugly, it looks cheap" etc. But once they've used it for a while they are convinced :)

Pictures of Your Portable Rig [Part XIV]

@GeorgeGoodman I actually find the mc5's pretty hard to drive, I have to turn up the volume pretty loud on my classic.. I think an amp (albeit a e3/e5) improves them some.

iPod Classic 160GB Fiio E3 Etymotic MC5   At first, I was really disappointed with the MC5's, really bad comfort, thin sound... But after a month or so I am really starting to like them more and more.. They are so well designed AND built.. Something I can appreciate being a...

@StevenBrouwer: I'm also from NL and my HD-25's dont have 'Made in Ireland' written on the headband. It says so on the box though. I'm 100% sure they are genuine, so don't worry! And btw the sound leakage with the leather pads is almost zero, as I tend to DJ in my living room @ quite some...

    SoundMAGIC PL30 impressions

I'm listening to them right now, a techno DJ set I recorded with vinyl (WAV). They sound great, the highs are really nice, comparing to what I've heard before. I really hate sibilance but the PL-30's don't produce any. The detail is nice as well, I can almost hear the needle going through the...

    SoundMAGIC PL30 impressions

I got them in the mail yesterday. Wow! The first thing that really pops out is the soundstage. I never heard so much roominess in IEMs. Cool. I'm not much of a reviewer, so I'll leave you at that.

    SoundMAGIC PL30 impressions

I've just ordered them from mp4nation after reading a lot of good reviews about them. They ship a free FiiO E3 with it as well! Nice. I've ordered a E5 just a week ago, but oh well ;-) I hope they'll ship soon. I currently own UE Metro-Fi 170, Sony EX-71, Grado SR-60. I guess they will beat...

    Newbie looking for first headphones

Overall, a pair of Grado SR-60s would be a very good choice to start with, I think. But, if you are planning to listen to music on-the-go a lot, closed headphones will suit you better. Grado's are 'open' headphones: no sound-isolation and high sound-leakage. Also, I don't think SR-60's...

    The GRADO SR-60 Impressions Thread

I have my SR-60's for about three months now, they were a big improvement on my other headphones (Sennheiser 457 and Stanton DJPro 2000). I still like them very much, although I don't listen to them THAT much, because I don't use them on the train. I don't like the idea of other people...
