I'm using the L-4E5C right now. It's 23 gauge mini-star quad. It's not as flexible as i would like it to be and with techflex on it, it's just able to fit inside a 3.5mm neutrik connector with a 6mm opening.

The high gain versions were only in the first batch. No need to worry if you just got yours recently.

The 600 grills are basically for looks but some people hear a difference. The 650 cable supposedly sounds better but I won't know till I get mines. I do know the cable is alot beefier then the stock cable though.

I actually searched for "hd580" and someone mentioned to buy directly to save on the eBay fees. Also got the 600 grills and the 650 cable from Sennheiser coming
