[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

Both my cars have been very finicky with BT transmitters (have tried a few now with other older DAP's that have no BT). The M6, being Android based, works just fine and also removes the need for me to carry yet another device around. The M6 btw isn't for my good headphones - I purchased it...

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

I bought it specifically because I want a separate device from my phone. Couple of reasons - saving the battery on my phone has always been one, and taking a music device on a walk where I'm "off the grid" is another. But a third reason for me is that I know phones are slowly losing their...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

If Shanling has a DIY option that would actually be very helpful (and if that already came up on this thread, my apologies btw). I personally haven't seen any YT videos on the subject so where the battery can be bought / is it soldered in / how difficult to remove the faceplate etc. With the...

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

Btw, as far as a lack of CPU power, I suppose that's a legit grievance. But given that the last time I attempted an Android DAP was the Cowon D3 this thing flies in comparison to that DAP. I don't really use the Tidal app, although it seems to be acceptable when I kicked the tires a bit...

[FiiO M6] Portable High-Resolution Lossless Music Player,Embracing A Wireless Future

It's not as good as I'd like it to be, but I went in knowing that it would be ~12 hours for music playback. And honestly now that I've owned it for a few weeks and kicked the tires, it's not that bad.....easily a full day of usage for me and that's the important thing. The USB-C is a good...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

This is my eventual concern with these types of devices. :frowning2: Would be nice to know if there's actually a way to DIY a solution that can be used, that's fairly cheap (I agree...$25 to risk damaging the device on my own doesn't sound appealing, but $25 for a vendor offering would be worth...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Same feelings here and very much appreciated. I am always rethinking my DAP setup and, eventually, I will be retiring my larger players and thanks to the M0 and the updates and support here I will be seriously considering one of those larger devices from them. A Happy New Year to all!

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

RE: gapless, same concerns here. It's not something I notice frequently with the M0 given how I use it most of the time (gym usage). But the SQ is a big sell for me, so much so that you could have a long-term buyer here for one of your larger players as I sell off / retire some of my older...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

I definitely prefer the lack of stickers - would look gaudy on a player this small.

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Nice review and a lot of good points. In particular shoring up the real estate with the left icons as a few extra characters could go a long way. Maybe they can offer a way to turn that off as an option? I don't agree with the larger library though. I have a 200GB microSD in mine now and...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

I'm all for years of firmware updates, don't get me wrong. But three years was fairly rare even ten years back - two years was more the average from my recollection - two examples from my own collection are the Sandisk Sansa with two years of updates (a closer price point the M0 btw) and the...

Thanks for the update on the 3.0 firmware on the site being the updated one - figured better safe than sorry. Time for an upgrade now.... :)

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Might be a time zone thing, I'm in EDT. So 5:44AM ET for me on that .bin file, but the replies here went past 6AM ET. Assuming the support team is ~10 hours ahead of my time zone I'm guessing we won't hear anything for at least a few more hours. Still holding off only given that there's no...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Might want to pull the update file as well, until this is resolved? I usually go there first before reading the forum here and downloaded the 3.0 update five minutes ago. Going to obviously hold off on using it given what I'm reading here but again suggest you pull that download link for...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Upgraded to 2.5 a few days back (like the clock feature btw) -- but the USB transfer speeds to my microSD, via the player, have dropped to ~500 KB/s on average. Anyone else having this issue? I already tried a reset but no dice, going to drop this back to 2.4 to see what happens. [EDIT] and...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

I don't generally use the M0 as a DAC, but just checked my Windows 10 build 1809 system (using the M0 USB driver INF) and it is working (USB/DAC both). I'm on firmware 2.3. Also pulled out my Lubuntu laptop, tried the device there and it's also working fine. Of note is that I'm seeing 24/96...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

I've noticed that also - when running for awhile, the time does drift a bit. As for it getting super out-of-whack with a dead battery, probably just something I'm unaccustomed to between small batteries keeping time in our tablet / laptops even when the main battery dies. And then for other...

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

The time on mine has gotten out of sync at least twice - not sure yet why as I only really notice it when I'm in the gym (I use the device to track the time, while I'm there). Could very well be battery related, where dead battery = time gets out of whack. Easy enough fix though.

Not certain if this was previously stated, or when this occurred, but the M0 has dropped to $99 on Amazon US.

    Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

Every time I carry this thing around I feel like it screams "wrist band!" to me. I know it's not a huge product line to warrant a lot of accessories but a band would really be useful in the gym, coupled with BT headphones.
