Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

My question is: Are these 2 problems (updating crash & tracks cut off in shuffle mode) also present on the Q1? I am thinking about upgrading to Q1 but if it has the same 2 major issues, I will have to pass...

I have both the M0 and Q1 and I believe the music getting cut at the beginning and end is the same on both. The music player functionality seems identical between them. From earlier discussions, changing the 'gapless' setting might affect it but I do not remember if on or off gives the better result.

It is very annoying to get the music cut. 100/500ms does not seem a lot but it really is.

I cannot answer your question about updating the DB as I have given up on it because of the time it takes and the crashes.

System on M0 and Q1 are pretty much identical when it comes to these two aspects. So upgrading this way will unfortunately not help you.

If you are having issues with battery, replacement battery can be purchased from Shenzhen Audio https://shenzhenaudio.com/products/...creen-battery-for-m0-hifi-portable-mp3-player

Is there a filter Setting that is preferred for general listening? I don’t know a thing about filters, lol.

Try them out yourself and see which one you like the most. Filters can be quite up to personal preference.

Default factory setting is minimum slow, I personally like linear fast.

Hello, I have M0 quite a while now and I love it. Recently I bought the galaxy buds (non plus), and I have some issue with M0. Galaxy buds only supports SBC and AAC, apparently it only support samsung's own SBC (I googled it). It can connect to M0, the connection was fine but the sound is distorted. And my only choice is AAC. Btw my M0 firmware already updated to v3.5

When I connect M0 and galaxy buds with AAC, the sound is fine, it's clear. The issue is, the buds will stop sounding after few songs, but the song on the M0 are still playing. If I scroll the tracker, skip, back, or choose other song, it wont play anymore. Until I reconnect the buds and sometimes I have to restart the M0. The 2nd issue is, when I play high size high bitrate song, the song sometimes slows down. This issue only happen on the galaxy buds with AAC codec.

I connect the buds to my phone and it's fine, but I saved most of my song on my micro sd which I put inside M0.

Hi,

I offered this MP3 player for my little son 2 years ago, and he is very happy with it. He did not use it very much, so did not have to recharge battery many times. Recharge has always been made on a solid charger which is still used with many products (tablets, smartphones, others MP3 players...) without any problem.

Since a few weeks it became impossible to recharge battery, it stucks at 2 level of charge instead going up to complete to 5, but more worrying is that when I plug it with its USB C cable, it is getting so much hot (after about only 5 minutes) that it becomes impossible to touch it without burning fingers.

So now we cannot use it anymore and it became even dangerous.

I understand the battery is dead, but I'm very disappointed to notice that this happened only 2 years after having bought it and without an intense use. I saw a recent post talking about having to replace the battery, but found a battery replacement that is 25$ which I find quite expensive, and one has to make it at his own which not a simple operation (pulling off the screen etc..)

Does anyone has the same battery problem?

Question for other m0 owners: when you put new files/folders onto your m0 and then disconnect from usb, does it run a full update that takes 10-15 minutes to re-index all of your files? I find this so frustrating. I have 11,000 files on my sdcard and adding a single folder of ten songs means the m0 has to re-scab and update all 11,000 files. Am I doing something wrong?

On M0 you unfortunately need to rescan all files if you add anything new.
You can turn off the automatic update, access the files through folder browsing and then manually start update when it's good time for it.

This is my eventual concern with these types of devices. :frowning2: Would be nice to know if there's actually a way to DIY a solution that can be used, that's fairly cheap (I agree...$25 to risk damaging the device on my own doesn't sound appealing, but $25 for a vendor offering would be worth it to me).

Buy the battery and take it and the device to a phone repair store. They should be able to easily replace it for a nominal fee.

We are offering the battery as cheap as possible, shipping on batteries is unfortunately more complicated and results in higher cost.

You can send your player to our office in China for repair, but you would need to cover both way shipping. Some of our distributors are able to offer such service too, but it really depends from distributor to distributor, if they have set-up dedicated repair team.

Exchanging battery on M0 is significantly simpler than doing same on most of modern smartphones, so any decent phone repair shop or person who did some DIY repairs ont heir smartphones should have no problem with exchanging it on M0.

We are trying to make sure our devices can serve you for a long time and are doing as much as we can to go with your right to repair. But as a small company based in China, there are limitations on what we can do. Dedicated repair centers around the World are not something we can ever promise.

If Shanling has a DIY option that would actually be very helpful (and if that already came up on this thread, my apologies btw). I personally haven't seen any YT videos on the subject so where the battery can be bought / is it soldered in / how difficult to remove the faceplate etc. With the understanding of course of "try at your own risk".

I've replaced batteries in multiple DAP's and phones, and my soldering skills aren't too bad. The worst part if just trying how to open up the device that first time. Btw, my battery is A-OK so far, I'm just thinking long-term.

Replacement battery is currently available from our partners at Shenzhen Audio: https://shenzhenaudio.com/products/...creen-battery-for-m0-hifi-portable-mp3-player

On that page you can also found basic guide for opening and disassembling M0(it's very similar for Q1, M2X and M5s).
