Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

I'm having a few issues when using my Huawei Freebuds. I usually just use wired headphones but when I'm at the gym I like to use Bluetooth. My problem is that the Freebuds sound a little off while using them with the M0. It's like a slight rattle sound if you know what I'm mean?!
They sound fantastic when I use them on my S9+ so I doubt the problem is the Freebuds.

Any ideas why? Also they cut out a lot when I first connect them.

I have Freebuds, didn't experience any rattling sounds(but considering how many problems these freebuds have even with my phone, I wouldn't be surprised if something is off).

They just sound very tinny on the M0. When using them with my S9+ I haven't had any cut outs or problems at all. Any suggestions setting wise on the M0?

Not really, just make sure M0 is set as AAC, since that's only advanced codec Freebuds support.

With my Honor(which is Huawei) Freebuds are horrible, pretty much every other day dealing with some disconnection, collapse of soundstage or imbalance between channels.

Yeah ive set it to AAC as i read they only support that. What about the EQ? Sounds like you should just get a different pair and not worry about the stress lol. I'm guessing you got them free with the phone? I managed to get mine for free so if they keep acting up I'll just buy something else.

Of course you can try to play around with EQ if any of them helps.

We have Freebuds as one of dozens earphones in office for testing. I gave up on them after about two weeks and instead bought 20 USD BT cable for my Custom IEMs.

Ah ok. Hopefully future firmware updates will sort them out. Thanks for the help.

I've had same issues with the Bluetooth Xiaomi Earphone at the gym. It always depend on what exercise I was doing. However I bought a new earphones the brand was SoundPeats and have APTX codec and noise cancelling, also they are very cheap. (I bought them in Amazon) With these new one I don't have any problem and they sound amazing.

Maybe if you can, try with another earphones. I think that if you are working with a very good portable player with many codec and so powerful, perhaps you must find another good earphones. I don't say Sony with LDAC (it's too expensive) but maybe another brand with good specifications

Not certain if this was previously stated, or when this occurred, but the M0 has dropped to $99 on Amazon US.

Black Friday is here.

Hi all, couple of questions before I potentially take the plunge on the M0.....

1) ibasso it01 are reported as a good match?
2) am I correct in thinking no hiby link / control from smart phone?
3) no issues with class 10 SD cards?

Ok, 3 questions

Cheers

No idea about 1, but about 2 and 3 you are correct. Smartphone control is in development for a future firmware update but not available yet.

Yeah gotta love Black Friday, the place I bought my M0 has it for $135.00 vs $149.00 CDN pre-sale. Glad I went for the pre-order deal for $139.00, would have been more bummed if I had paid $15.00 more instead of $5.00 :) I would have had to wait 5 months though so I can live with paying $5.00 more. I thought about waiting for Black Friday to see the deals on the Sony A55 vs the M0 but glad I didn't as the A55 is nowhere in site in North America and not on Sony.com or Sony.ca yet.
