Shanling M0 - Smallest Hi-Res Portable Player - New Firmware V3.6

It's been a long time coming, but many thanks to those at shanling who kept their word. Many lesser companies with larger budgets would have abandoned a 2 year old product long ago.

I look forward to seeing how the app progresses, hopefully we'll see the settings accessible.

While I'm here anyone else using synclink not seeing album artwork? Or have I missed a step?

I've downloaded and installed the v3.3 firmware on my M0, and installed the Shanling Music apk on my LG V30 phone.
Bluetooth & SycLink are enabled on both devices.
I was able to do a Library Update, in which the album artwork is visible on my phone, for the albums on my M0.
However, when playing music on my M0, with SyncLink enabled, the artwork is not shown on the "now playing" screen.
Also, while SyncLink will connect, it only stays connected for about a minute at a time.
Which means I have to keep reconnecting the app to the M0.

@Shanling
Thanks for the update! Found a bug on the clock setting page, there's an icon overlapping the 24H text on that toggle.

Also I remember there had been talk about bringing the quick setings that slides from the bottom on the main screen to work system wide or at least also on the Now Playing page. Is that still being considered?

Anyways, M0 keeps getting better and better. :grinning:

Thanks for report on this bug.

For quick settings, still not sure. Might be added to now playing screen. For other menus it's not that practical due to too small screen of M0.

You would like to use app for access all settings on M0? Honestly, we didn't plan that. We see need for that on companion app for UP2/4 due their limited controls, but not on the player with its own screen.
We might add some shortcut to something like EQ on/off, something that might be adjusted more frequently during playback.

Album art is missing in this first release of app, should be updated later.

Any plans to have the Android app put on the Google Play store?

In process.

Connect only for a minute, do you have some music playing during this minute? If not, you might be hitting problem with M0 going to standby mode, if you have it enabled.

Yes, music is playing on the M0, and it continues to play unaffected by the SyncLink connection coming and going.
NOTE: After rebooting the M0 and my LG V30, the SyncLink stayed connected for 5 or 6 minutes, and then began dropping out again.

One other odd thing - Changing the play mode in the app, or on the M0, does not stay in-sync.
In other words, sometimes they are in-sync, but if you cycle through the modes on the M0, the app doesn't necessarily display the same final mode - and if you cycle through them in the app, the M0 doesn't necessarily end up in the play mode that the app is showing.

Please don't. And if you do, please make it optional.

It already works like this on the Q1 (though for going back to the main menu screen) and I keep hitting it when I try to scroll through a (folder) list. On the small screen of the M0 it would be even easier to mistakenly hit.

2. Adjusted now playing screen, moving progress bar to the first group of controls.
..

Thanks, I quite like having the progress bar on the first screen. Not necessarily to seek through a track but if nothing else just to see the progress of a track. It is more intuitive than having to check the numbers.

I cannot imagine ever using the AB repeat but I understand it needs to be on this screen as it needs the progress bar. I will miss my play mode icon on the first screen though.

Thanks for the continued updates. It is much appreciated.

UPDATE on SyncLink Dropping Out -
Found that after un-pairing the M0 and V30, and then re-pairing, on both devices - the SycLink seems to be staying connected, for at least 20 or 25 minutes now.
But the Playback modes being displayed are still different on the M0 and in the app.

Not every setting, I'll give you that. But options that relate to sound would be great if possible. Being able to configure eq on the larger screen would be really useful to me, I really struggle to make small adjustments on the fly with the m0. But I appreciate this might not be an issue for all.

Either way I look forward to what comes in future with the app.
