I'm in the same boat. I "need" another DAC for my 2-channel system so I can put my Gungnir MB A2 back into my headphone rig. Was thinking about just getting the Bifrost 2, but would wait if I knew there was an updated Gungnir or Yggdrasil expected in the near future. What are the latest rumors?

  Minor correction: Cavalii Audio still sells their Liquid Carbon 2.0 on their site, but I'm pretty sure supply is limited. Not exactly the Liquid Gold, but does have the Cavalli "house sound".

Anyone upgrade from a gen1 to a gen2 and can describe its sound quality differences?    I'm debating about upgrading my WA7 gen1 (which I love) but at $499 I'm wondering if it's worth it. $500 could get me a pretty nice used standalone DAC, though at the expense of desktop clutter.
