Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up
I'm in the same boat. I "need" another DAC for my 2-channel system so I can put my Gungnir MB A2 back into my headphone rig. Was thinking about just getting the Bifrost 2, but would wait if I knew there was an updated Gungnir or Yggdrasil expected in the near future. What are the latest rumors?- Bikr

Help us win a $50,000 FedEx grant to speed product development
Bicyclist! :bicyclist: Cycling has always been my main passion. I've strayed to other sports but always come back to cycling, mostly road these days. I do a handful of masters races around the region (ID, UT, WA, OR) as well as some centuries and gran fondos. Glad to hear you're into it as...- Bikr

Focal Elegia Measurements
I've been a fan of Mr. Speakers since the Alpha Dogs days , so I may be a bit biased. Going from my Primes to the Ether CX greatly improved the sound stage (wider, more air) AND had more detail across the board, with a nice, detailed low end. The jump from the Ether CX to the Ether C Flow...- Bikr

Focal Elegia Measurements
UPDATE Here's the exact quote from Dan. It was in a tweet on October 3: https://twitter.com/mrspeakers/status/1047497707579817989 -------------------- I had the same thought, but then I saw a comment from Dan Clark (I think it was in the Ether CX Massdrop thread), where he said something to...- Bikr

WOO-HOOOO... WA7 "fireflies"!!!
I'd love to know as well! Personally, I'd love to see a gen3 Fireflies with an R2R multi-bit DAC built in and a balanced headphone output. I'd be willing to pay $200–$500 more for such a unit. I don't care about DSD and love the visual appeal and small footprint of the Fireflies.- Bikr

[Review] WA7 & LCD-2F: DAC shoot-out & tube guide [UPDATED]
I have a gen1 WA7Fireflies w/WA7tp power supply with stock tubes. I'm considering tube rolling, but I'm not sure the improvement would be worth it (for me). I really like the sound of the Fireflies with my Mr Speakers Alpha Primes, but I made the mistake of bringing my Primes to the RMAF and...- Bikr

The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
Good to know! I purchased one a few weeks ago which is why I thought it was still available. Seems that many of these high-end audio companies have a hard time keeping their sites up to date, both content- and design-wise! :/ Back on topic… Anyone hear the TA-ZH1ES with a pair of Mr...- Bikr

The Official Sony TA-ZH1ES Hi-Res Headphone Amplifier (Live From IFA 2016)
Minor correction: Cavalii Audio still sells their Liquid Carbon 2.0 on their site, but I'm pretty sure supply is limited. Not exactly the Liquid Gold, but does have the Cavalli "house sound".- Bikr

Anyone in Idaho?
I just put my OPPO HA-1 on Boise Craigslist, so let me know if any of you are interested. I'd love to sell it to a Head-Fi'er and avoid the Craigslist crazies!- Bikr

Anyone in Idaho?
I live and work in Eagle and would be up for getting together sometime talk about and listen to each other's rigs.I actually started a Boise HiFi meetup but it barely has any traction and could benefit from some headphone junkies! https://www.meetup.com/Boise-HiFi- Bikr

2nd Generation Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies amp/DAC
Thanks for the feedback folks, I think I may hold off. I'm pretty happy with my setup right now (gen1 w/tube power supply, Alpha Primes). I was just curious what the differences in SQ were. As far as the upgrade details, I emailed Woo Audio to find out… Reply from Mike at Woo Audio...- Bikr

2nd Generation Woo Audio WA7 Fireflies amp/DAC
Anyone upgrade from a gen1 to a gen2 and can describe its sound quality differences? I'm debating about upgrading my WA7 gen1 (which I love) but at $499 I'm wondering if it's worth it. $500 could get me a pretty nice used standalone DAC, though at the expense of desktop clutter.- Bikr

Woo WA7 vs. Resonessence Concero HP vs. Oppo HP-1 vs. Marantz HD-DAC1
Good question! I'm interested in this comparison as well. I currently have the OPPO HA-1 at home and love it with my Alpha Dogs and now Alpha Primes. The balanced output sounds amazing! Also use it as a preamp for a simple 2-channel setup. But now I'm looking for a smaller DAC/amp for work. ...- Bikr

HD380 vs. HD280
Not sure why everyone complains about the clamping pressure of the HD-280s as it can be remedied. I have a pretty large noggin and when I bought my HD-280 they were really tight. But I just flexed the headband outward a good amount every time put them on or took them off. After a couple weeks of...- Bikr

Meelec M6 -- Awful (Update: Not So Awful)
How long should it take to break-in the MEE M6? After about 15 hours on mine, they still sound dull. I originally struggled to get a good fit with the stock tips, so I bought the Sony Hybrid tips. Now after getting a decent fit, bass and mid's sound good, but the treble is lacking. I'd...- Bikr
