I have the hd650s...

I recently got a deal online for a new hdva600 amp for $800. The sound is phenomenal - crystal clear with lots of space.

My question is are there better amps or amp/dac combo options for $800? Or am I in good hands with the hdva600 once I get a dac?

I know this is subjective, but hearing other thoughts would help.

I just got the HDVA 600 (bought on that recent buydig deal) and paired it with the HD 6XX and I'm happy. Look into source at this point. I'm using the Headroom Max Balanced DAC

Isn't that like a $1600 amp? Of course it's worth $800 even though the msrp is a bit inflated

I'd be more inclined to get a Meier or VIolectric, but you already have it and for half the price. Just get a DAC for it. Something like the Modi Multibit.
