Aren't the low end Grados made in China? Therefore shipping for retailers shouldn't cost any more in Europe than it does in the US. Not that any retailer or distributer is going to pay anything like $30 per set anyway as they aren't shipping single sets by express mail!

DR150 are open so not what the OP is looking and the other ones have active noise cancelling don't they? Aren't they a bit over the £55 as well? How about AKG K518 as I imagine you'd like plenty of bass coming from cx earphones? They are available for around £50 or less and fold up, are...

Chinese sites have them advertised for around $55 so I'd imagine they're fakes.

I did buy both but gave them away so I can't really remember which was better, and I only tried them briefly. Suffice it to say one isn't so much better than the other out of the box that it sticks in my mind.

They won't ship outside the US. Otherwise I'd have got a pair at $99! Along with umpteen other deals at prices way below the UK price.

I could have sworn I'd seen fake shures including some se and given that things like low end sony, cx300 etc, are faked I don't think the price of ie6 would put anyone off copying it.

I haven't found anything to be as good as etys but I don't know if you'll like the sound signature.

Do the worms have an effect on the sound quality? Do you use them as disposable tips? Maybe they just cause your face to pucker up and squeeze the earphone tips tighter?

Ety tri flanges are great. I find them comfortable enough, better than many shure tips, maybe even the hybrids and isolate so well.

Isn't nearly all copper continously cast now? Since it can be much more cost effective to produce. No more starting and stopping all the time, machines running almost continously without human intervention while resulting in a good quality product.

I find iems too distracting if I'm trying to read something deep or technical and much prefer speakers or headphones, in that order for background listening. Of course you also need speakers if you really want to feel the music or watch a film!

It sounds like your putting them in with water in your ears already? Wouldn't a little vaseline or the like help to seal them before you enter the water. I'm not surprised it hurts if there is water in your ears when you put them in because water isn't going to compress like air!

Damn, just bought a pair of UE 220 at £30 from advancedmp3 using a money off voucher I had to lower the price slightly. Haven't had a chance to listen to them as they only came today but I hope they're better than cx300s as I was going to give them away to someone to replace a pair of cx300...
