To give an update in case anyone else has the problem, changing the tube fixed it. 

Unfortunately I don't have any others to test with. 

Hey all, so my V3 seems to be having some issue. It's un-modded, had it for a few years now, and suddenly I came home and turned it on and I only get sound out of my left ear. I've confirmed it's an issue with the amp (tried other headphones/sources). Did a bit of googling but I couldn't find...

Yeah, already checked there and ebay. Just wanted to know if anyone here could recommend something. 

Can anyone recommend a place to get replacement cables from? My 3M cable is going bad and I don't want to use the 6M for daily use. Not really into fancy snake-oil stuff, just a decent Mini XLR -> 3.5mm or 1/4 inch.

I tried both the Valhalla 2 and the Lyr 2 at T.H.E. Show Newport, they didn't have any Q701s to audition them with though unfortunately. 

    I assumed it was already drawn.

Well shoot, I've heard that the S.E.X. is a better fit for them. Looks like I'll have to go that route, though it's quite a bit more expensive.

Hey all, I've been planning on building a Bottlehead Crack for a little while now but I decided to do some more research and found many saying that the Q701 and the Crack aren't a good pair. Anyone have any personal experience with the combo?

Already had them bass modded, I was hoping they wouldn't notice if I sent it back :)

So I was just about to send my Q701s back because of the bass rattle I mentioned here a few weeks ago, but I accidentally found out that I can take the ear pads off by twisting them. I took them off and found a few pieces of cat hair on the drivers. Took it off and the bass rattle seems to be...

So I posted this two weeks ago but I've finally had time to confirm it. I'm definitely getting some bass "rattle" in my right ear that doesn't happen with my other headphones. Where do I go from here? I've done the bass port mod if that's relevant.    Setup is: PC -> ODAC -> Bravo V3 -> Q701...

Computer -> ODAC -> Bravo V3 -> Q701   I have some ATH-M50s, I'll test against them tomorrow. Thanks. 

I think my right driver might be damaged somehow, I think I'm hearing some static in some very high/low frequencies. Is there any way to test if this?

After having the Q701s for 3 weeks I decided to do the bass port mod, initial impressions: I can feel the bass rather than hear it, this is amazing. 

Does the Q701 ever stretch out? Wearing them has been very uncomfortable, and not because of the bumps that I've seen people talk about. I'm getting clamping on my head from them and it seriously makes me unable to wear them for more than 30 minutes without getting a headache.

Just got my white Q701s from Amazon, they're the Made in Austria version \o/

I've given up hope in the Q701 going on sale, went ahead and bought it.
