you could try inline resistors from Ultimate ears, Ety or Dr. Meier. The Ety P to S converter (75 ohms or so IIRC) works pretty well, except that i keep losing them, which gets expensive.

well i just had the cable on my first pair of 530's crack, after, um 3 pairs of defective E500's . Sigh... Could have been 4 pairs defective E500's. I don't remember. They did last a lot longer than the other pairs, almost 3 months

i would agree, i always use them with the Ety er4P to S-attenuator (75 ohms, i think), and they're still pretty sensitive/efficient
