    Darkvoice 336i + Beyerdynamic DT990/250: Good Match?

The top is the '03 DT990Pro, the bottom is the regular '03 DT990. They're identical sonicaly, the Pro models have a harder clamp on the head.

    Darkvoice 336i + Beyerdynamic DT990/250: Good Match?

On the other hand, I like the sound of the older DT990 better. I find it to be more warm, textured and organic than the new '05 edition. The New DT990 definitely looks better though... I see why people like the '05 better though, it has a more traditionaly "hifi" sound.

Trying to upgrade my MDR-V6. Help is needed.

You're going to have a HELL of a time finding something that sounds more clear than the MDR-V6, even the DT880 doesn't sound as clear. The V6 has a ful blown treble emphasis, maybe you should look into the Sony SA line (SA1000, 3000, 5000).

Why do s0ome people claim HD595 doesn't need an amp?

I'm sure it also helps that you've dialed up the bass on those tone controls you've got there.. that'll definitely "open right up" the bottom end.

    NEEDED: new 'phones

Going from SJ5 to AD900 is really gonna wow you my friend. I hope you enjoy them when they arrive. I have the Bithead and it sounds nice, but there are better alternatives out there. They're not portable though, you really don't need an amp while on the go using $100 IEMs though so that's...

Yeah, it applies to the AD900, I just clicked on the AD and they're on the list. I dunno about shipping to Canada.. but it should apply, since they ship worldwide.

    NEEDED: new 'phones

I own both the AD900 and A900 and the AD900 is clearly the superior headphone. The AD900 is my favorite headphone in the $200 - $300 price range, I prefer it to the staples around here in that range (DT880, DT990, HD580/600, etc.. can't comment on AKGs). I think it's definitely a safe choice for...

How are the Mids on the CK7?

The mids on the CK7 are great. They're clean and neutral, the bass doesn't muddy up the mids like in other canalphones.

The CK7 is a step up from the MD33/CX300/EP630. No contest. Seriously though, try something out already.. you've been asking about IEMs for months now.

    Audio Technica ATH M50

As a proud of team AT I'll take one for the team and order one on the 15th when I get my money. Anyone else up for taking a leap of faith with me?

Need semi portable jack of all trades can.

ATH-ES7 folds flat and slips into a bag easily, it sounds better than 99% of the stuff in it's class too.

    Audio Technica ATH M50

I emailed AT directly asking about the M50 in relation to the rest of their line. Here's the reply I got. It sounds promising. ------------- Hi, The only immediate differences I see between the M-30`s and the M50`s is a slightly larger drive (45mm in the M50 versus 40mm in the M30),a wider...

I'm surprised noone has recommended the ATH-CK7 to the OP yet. It's like an Ety with a proper bass response. They're also far superior to the Westone UM1 which I also own and never use anymore because of the CK7s. The CK7 has superior detail, far superior bass and treble extension, bass impact...
