I'm kinda curious too, someone here has to have tried this...

I use mine to store my most used tubes, I have other storage solutions for spares and other tubes. I really want one of those RCA boxes but have never had the opportunity to purchase one as a reasonable cost.

RCA TV Repair Box ^ I really want one of these but I can't justify the price... the Zenith one I have was free-fifty! This one has tube storage still!

Its a TV repair box, it had a shelf for tubes and misc parts (missing when I got it) and the bottom was tool storage.

You gotta get a zenith tube repair box for the stash!

Actually re-soldering the pins fixed my problem, both tubes test much better and the loud pop hasn't shown up again... I noticed a small crack at the tip of a few pins with the tube wire just hanging out in there... This is probably the result of me constantly changing tubes and damaging the pins.

My OTL is still kicking after the last 11 years of ownership. My 5998's however are getting noisy with age... I tested them last night and they're still "good" but in the 60's instead of the 80's when I got them... I really don't want to fund replacing them so I guess back to rolling... Any...

Triplett 3413b super basic but enough for what I use.

I finished the first box... It was pretty easy sorting since they were mostly NOS (testing will be a winter activity) This is my hell for the next year or so...

So far the highlights include a bunch of 6sn7's, 6v6's, 5998 (single) some random 6080's and a gz34... Lots of trash though...

My last few days have been sorting through a lot of NOS tubes I acquired... Plenty of tubes that would work in the ultimate so far (I have a dozen set aside for testing) plus some that will work in my Glenn OTL. I have 2 more large bins completely full of unboxed tubes to go through, I totally...

really reminds me of my jank tower of adapters and external power adapter... Speaking of which its in a box somewhere... I should start messing with the LD1+ again...

I spent my first few years at Lineage repairing DMS100 and 5E switches, never got any tubes out of it BUT I did get to see the occasional lineup running a giant reel to reel data backup. I also used to work for "Good Enough" when they bought up Lineage Power only to sell us off to ABB. It wasn't a bad place to work but spinning off a profitable acquisition and then selling us kinda felt bad...

Finished beautifying a few of my Grado's today! Both sound great, ZMF pads on both the one in the background is all Turblent (some old I had in storage and some new) with SR60X drivers and the Rholupat kit in the front is an old SR225i driver.

That's probably what I'll do, again it'll be awhile while i move funds to a secure place away from my wife lmao
