Just received the first of several parcels ftom the Ukraine, 4 x Foton 6N7S dated 1960 & 4 x 6N7S Fonon dated 1974

All in good order.

There i s a video online about the Foton factory set up by RAC America in the 1950's, the factory was destroyed in the 70's in an earthquake. It does not mention the Fonon tubes, it appears they might be the phoenix of Foton. Please Let me if you have more info.

Foton factory marked their tubes o2k inside the tube if you can find it.

Mine has also arrived, same time? 6F6S tubes from Ukraine. Almost like it just came out of the factory. Also EL36 adapters from MrsX. I've 2 power tubes to play with today.

Triplett 3413b super basic but enough for what I use.

I am actually thinking of going with the Super Gold Ultimate with the headphone outputs as you suggested. The reason being I have this xlr right angle extension adapter made by @xtiva for me. I think it will look great. Which means I will go with Teflon instead of black bakelite sockets.

Talk about the umpteenth changes to my Ultimate.

Unfortunately, if you're willing to use an adapter, that leaves you with another option: just a gold Switchcraft 1/4 jack on the front and no XLR 4-pin at all. That would be the cleanest

I have used my 6mm headjack once since new, I use the xlr all the time, I also have 6mm to xlr adaptors so I didn’t really need any other sockets

My knobs are 24k gold from Aliexpress. That is because my 300b chassis came with plastic knobs. So I bought after market ones.

That is a possiblity but I feel kind of lacking without an xlr output.

Guys stay away from EL36. It won't work in Ultimate.

WE402A should be WE420A.

ECC34 incoming and should work but I will test it or it's an expensive lightbulb.

ECC33 should work. It's just a glorified 6SN7. ECC32 should work but I have no money to buy it.

EZ82 - where you get that from?

6Z7, 6Z7G - never heard of it.

5670, 2C51, 6385, 396A, 6N3P - no idea

5687, 7044, 7119, E182CC - no idea

6C4 / CV133 / 6100 / EC90 - no idea

c3g - yes ok. Good to go as power tubes.

These ones should work in the 6J5 sockets with adapters but I've yet to try them

Tubes lighted but no sound. Will take it to Eric to check when I go and collect Bryant's Ultimate. Eric says it's a high current tube and the limit might be reach.
