Hello,

I'm a bit jealous that you can try all your tubes while my Ultimate is still stuck at customs.😭😭😭😭

Hope to get the same pleasure soon.

Soon my friend. You'll get your Ultimate soon.

Meanwhile a star is born. Official pictures of Bryant's Super Gold Ultimate is out but I will let him have the honour of posting it himself. It looks stunning with the 2 x 6J5 sockets well position, flanking the 6SL7. The Silke transformers complete the look.

I am now very certain that I want mine in black.

Day 2 with 6P14P / EL84 power tubes. Just love the tone so much. EL84 has a brighter high end compared to EL34 and a similar mid range punch as EL34. Bass is a bit warmer than EL34 but still pack a powerful low end sound. It has replace my previous favourites of EL32 and EL81.

I'm still running Raytheon 5751 Windmill and Reflector 6P14P with RFT EZ81. A combination that sound so good, I'm reluctant to change.

For my Super Black Ultimate, I will keep it simple. I will only have the black Switchcraft 1/4" output on the front panel. There will be no xlr output. It is really not necessary if you use a pig tail adapter. It will be a totally black look.

You could have everything at the rear just a volume at the front for that “simple, plainer look”

VALVE RESPECT
I am storing my valves in a box from Bunnings ($10 for this one) going to put a liner in the bottom, felt or similar.

You could move everything to the side/rear and keep the front plain black as well?

Very cool solution! What is that box intended for? I do not recall seeing such boxes...

Its a TV repair box, it had a shelf for tubes and misc parts (missing when I got it) and the bottom was tool storage.
