Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
Anyway, since I had my JR back I'm trying it and it sounds really great. The UI it's a bit laggy but the software is not that bad. I'm a bit undecided between sold it or not.- Hellkitchen

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
Tomorrow I will go to my local shop and should find my brand new JR which is replacing the old one which had some serious issues with Ghost touch. The first time I've sent it to assistance they did something (don't know what but I think just software stuffs) but didn't replaced it. After repair...- Hellkitchen

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
EDIT: I don't know, triyng again it doens't seem it is an hardware problem. I think the software is completely buggy. There are no custom firmwares for this DAP? EDIT 2: maybe I'm finding out what's wrong here. Every time I wake up the device it behaves like the display is touched and randomly...- Hellkitchen

I don't know, it may be a communication error between the software and the hardware. I only know this is really frustrating, also because this DAP sounds extremely well with my headphones and my music in general (metal).- Hellkitchen

I quote myself because it happened again and this time it wasn't just after the power on. I'm really angry. It's a shame I can't enjoy this dap because it can hurts my ears. I've already put it on sales. Never gonna buy an A&K product again.- Hellkitchen

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
Hi, thank you for your thoughts. In my case it is not a matter of audio disparity. The volume goes really high or really low randomly and it's very dangerous. I'm noticing that this happens always when the player is powered on for the first time and seems it doesn't happen afterwards. It surely...- Hellkitchen

No it's not that. Line out is off and even if on it requires a confirmation before setting the volume to maximum. I'm afraid it is some kind of ghost touch on the display. Maybe the protective film? I'm using the one that was supplied with the jr.- Hellkitchen

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
Hi all, I'm experiencing a really dangerous behavior of my Jr. It Happends randomly that the volume gets really loud (60 to 75) without any notice and since I use mostly CIEM this can be harmful for my ears. I've noticed that this seems to happen more frequently when I set the volume with the...- Hellkitchen

Astell & Kern Junior (AK Jr.) Impressions Thread
I bought mine two days ago. I still need to test it but the first impression has been really good. The user interface doesn't seem to be that bad as I've read on the internet, but I've already find out that it doesn't work with cue files which is a shame. Even if it has the same DAC as my DX50...- Hellkitchen

Macbook air + spotify premium - recommend me the best set-up!
I'm using my macbook air 2015 with Apple music and I'm really happy with its sound quality. I don't know the bit rate of Apple's streaming service (maybe 256 kbs?) but I think the Macbook's DAC is really good having tested it with FLACs. I use it also with my FiiO E18 sometimes but I think that...- Hellkitchen

Well it's still to soon to talk since I got it just today. Some early impressions with internal amp and with my LZ12 (I could change some of these thoughts later): The X3 II has more forwarded mids/voice with equilibrated sound (I thought it was more coloured). The DX50 has better highs...- Hellkitchen
