Your dog or your gear, which one will you choose?

Just because someone loves their audio gear, that doesn't mean they "hate" their dogs, as another user here suggested. A lot of people here are saying, "Gear is replaceable, dogs aren't." Give me a break. I like playing with dogs, and taking care of them can be fun; but an animal is an animal...

Micro DAC > Micro Amp > Swans M200, or Micro DAC > Swans M200?

Thanks. I actually do have a splitter, but I don't mind unplugging cables. I just wanted to know if amping the signal twice was pointless or detrimental.

Micro DAC > Micro Amp > Swans M200, or Micro DAC > Swans M200?

I'm getting the Headroom Micro DAC and Amp for my HD580 headphones, but I also have the Swans M200 speakers. Since the Swans are self-powered by an internal amp, I was wondering if there would be any point in running them through the Micro DAC and Amp, or would it be better to just plug them...

    Optimal Mp3 Bitrate

When I rip music from my own CDs, I use EAC + Lame with "V 0 --vbr-new" compression. I really can't tell any difference between it and the original CD. 192kbps also sounds good to me, and the majority of my "acquired" music comes in this bitrate.

    Hmmm...guess burn-in is real...

Horse guy, why not just conduct the test for yourself? I'm not out to convince anyone, and I couldn't care less what anyone else believed. I used to think that the people who said burn-in is real were also full of it, but it's right there in my face. *shrug* I know I don't have a perfect...

    Hmmm...guess burn-in is real...

I don't understand what kind of science you'd expect. All I can say is that the bass used to be: BRMMRMMRMMRMMRMM Now it's a nice: BMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

    HD-580 users please come.

"This item ships for FREE with Super Saver Shipping." But you have to order from Amazon, not one of the other stores, to get the free shipping, I think: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...Fencoding=UTF8 Add the one from Amazon to the cart, instead of the ones from Electronica, J&R...

    Hmmm...guess burn-in is real...

Didn't expect a debate to start over this topic. But, it's kind of odd for anyone to say that I just "got used" to the sound. It was only one day of letting the music play, and I didn't even have the headphones on my head the entire time. I just listened to a lot of songs with heavy bass for a...

    Hmmm...guess burn-in is real...

Got my HD580 yesterday, and the bass didn't have a smooth sound. Sort of warbly, but only slightly, if you know what I mean. Had it playing music for the past 24 hours, and that problem is already gone. Didn't believe in burn-in before, but, eh, it's interesting.

    Cheap mini to mini cables

I don't think the mods just delete threads on request, and they shouldn't anyway, since keeping this topic archived will prevent another user from making the same mistake. And I can vouch for Blue Jeans Cable. I own the Swans M200, which is a good set of speakers, but nothing top-notch, so I...

Any difference between HD580 and HD650 stock cables?

Is this worth the money? http://www.headphone.com/products/ca...ug-adapter.php Or should I just the normal adapter?

Any difference between HD580 and HD650 stock cables?

Okay, thanks guys. So does the HD650 cable come with a 1/4"-to-1/8" adapter, or will I have to buy that separately?

Any difference between HD580 and HD650 stock cables?

[I posted this topic in the cables forum, but I think I'll get better responses here] I recently placed an order for the HD580 from Amazon, but wanted to keep an extra cable just in case I ever screwed up the original one--especially since they're so cheap. Just wondering if I should order...

Just wondering if I should order the HD580 cable or just go for the HD650. No need to recommend a Cardas/Equinox/Zu, because...

    K701 at 500 hrs

*reads first few posts in the topic and nothing else* My K701's sure didn't sound like any wimpy KSC75 when I first got them. They sounded fantastic from the first second, and they didn't think they sounded any different 100 hours later. I returned them because the lousy build quality had the...

Does Blue Jeans Cable sell mini-to-RCA cables?

For anyone who cares to know, I got a reply from one of the reps: We have just introduced a solution for the 3.5mm (1/8") stereo to (2) RCA connectors market. It isn't on our website yet, so I've included directions below for placing a custom order. We build the cable out of Belden...

Does Blue Jeans Cable sell mini-to-RCA cables?

Haha, I actually already sent my e-mail to them, but I don't think they'd have that kind of information readily available, would they?

Okay, thank, I'll ask them directly. I figured I could just get a faster response here, since it's already the weekend.

Are the tips the same for the ER4P's?

Are the foam tips the same size for all the IEMs?

Does anyone else know if the rubber tips for the Shure's stay in better than the UE's? And please don't tell me that I need to wet them first, because I can't really be doing that in public. Thanks.

Are the foam tips the same size for all the IEMs?

I couldn't use the rubber tips. They wouldn't stick in my ears well. The EX51's stick in my ears perfectly and they just disappear within any sensation at times. I wish UE would have made their rubber tips as well as Sony's, but I hear that the bass is not as good with those tips as compared...
